he needed Bowe...if bowe had grown a pair n they got it on...then i think your looking at one of what would have been a classic match up...peoplewould have still been talking about today..Bowe in his prime was something else...however after Lewis gave him slaps in the amateurs...Bowe never wanted to meet him in the pro game..which is a shame...cus i dnt think he would have got murdered...but it would have been great to watch...

I suppose Bowes legacy came later with Holyfield..but even thenBowe was getting ready for tyson, before he went to jail...its all if's n but's....but back to the point...Lewis is a legend...excellent boxing skills, huge frame, dominated the divsion..beat tyson,holyfield,klitscho...beat everyone he entered the ring with....retired undisputed champion of the world...now tell me..what would tyson give to have that now?

With the prime for prime...i would take Lewis..because of his longer reach..and awesome jab...i know tyson was a brawller...and could get thru most defences, but in his hey day...his opponents were terrified before they got in the ring with him....and so pot shotting with the jab,and keeping him at length didnt work,as people tended to be scared ****less....however if Lewis wasnt..and boxed smart...as he often did...i think he'd win. They faught outside of the ring?.......tyson would rip him to appart

Lewis shouldnt pride himself over a KO win over Tyson who was way way way WAY WAY passed his prime.

It was the fight people wanted, many still believing an old Tyson could KO Lewis, In fact many so called experts predicted a win for Mike by KO. Many say his performance against Tyson was his best ever. It wasn't even close, yet a past his best Lewis still dominated the so-called 'baddest man on the planet'.

i think the problem for lewis is that his fights with holyfield and tyson where when they where both past there best not his fault though, he could have turned pro 4 years earlier after the 84 Olympics but didn't.

IMO Lennox is just smart for entering the HW devision when he did. He is great but there was something missing in his career to make him a legend. Anyone know what that is?
Smashing boxer, legend? I don't think so. Never on Holyfield's plateau.

Bowe ducked Lennox like the plague. That's not his fault...

And he's a great not a legend. Only guys like Ali, Marciano, and Louis are legends.
