I'll say it again, Floyd was measuring ODLH, which means he put his hand in his face and kept him at a distance where he was unable to land punches do to the reach differential, like big kids do to little kids in cartoons. He has the reach advantage, he had oscar beaten mentally and stopped him from throwing for 2-3 rounds straight, and plenty of KO's are by volume not by power, anyone can KO anyone if they land enough and Floyd was in a position to land enough.
oh, and floyd never even TRIED to TAKE the belt from OScar, just do the minimum to MAYBE win. In the old days he wouldve never been given that win. Just goes to show you how meaningless the belts are these days, the judges give the advantage to the stylistic favorite rather than the champ.
Or maybe they gave it to Floyd because he landed the more meaningful punches and landed more shots in general. He used his advantages in that fight exactly what your supposed to do to win. Why go toe to toe with someone naturally bigger than you if you can move and outbox? Get Real.Comment

I agree that Hatton has a way bigger chance that what people give him, however your claim that Mayweather doesnt box makes everything you say not worth reading ever again. It never ceases to amaze me how peopl buy into the media hype machine. I have seen countless posts stating that Mayweather is the bigger man, mayweather is too fast, mayweather boxes to well, and so on and so forth ad nauseum! Being a man that likes to look at the world through logical eyes, I'm left confused by the lack of logic i see used to support these most obsured claims.
Myth 1: Floyd is the bigger man. Hmmm, Didn't Floyd Start his career at 130? Where did Hatton start his career-140 i believe. How then is floyd the bigger man? Floyd blew up to cherry pick the higher divisions, but that doesn't make him the naturaly bigger or stronger man!
Myth 2: Mayweather is too fast. Mayweather hasn't looked fast since he fought Corrales. Didn't look too fast against De la Hoya or Judah for that matter. I'll give ya Gatti, but that was more accuracy against a guy not known for his defensive prowess.
Myth 3: Mayweather boxes too well. Mayweather boxes? Funny, I though Mayweather Pot shots and creates distance to Pot shot some more. He does this all night long. He adapts well, but other than that what has Floyd really shown us? That he can beat Hand selected opposition? Roy played that tune long enough that we don't need Mayweather to reprise the role!
Fact: Hatton is the first PRIME,LEGIT,P4P RANKED, UNDEFEATED FIGHTER MAYWEATHER HAS EVER FACED! THATS A COLD HARD ***IN FACT, UNDENIABLE!!!! How then can so many here proclaim Mayweather the be all end all and in the process totally trash an undefeated, just as proven champion? Hate, thats how!
Mayweather resume since leaving 130lbs-Corley,Gatti,Mitchell,Judah,Baldomere,DLH! thats everyone
Hattons resume Tszyu,Maussa,Callozo,Urango,Castillo in roughly same time frame.
Quality of opposition is the most reliable indicator of ability. Is there that much of a difference given the factors involved to say Mayweather is superior based on this criteria? I don't think so.
Point is, there is absolutly no reason to dismiss Hatton. Floyd has shown no substance since leaving the 130lb division. Hattons resume isn't spectaular either. that said, This fight is a pickem fight.
Im picking Hatton to overwhelm Maywetaher mid to late!!! For those of you still holding on to the "Floyd is bigger stronger illusion-Remember what Happened to Jones. Weight means nothing if it isnt there. Mayweather will have to make weight just like Hatton.Comment

When they are both in the ring, Mayweather will look much bigger. He's atleast 2 inches taller, with much longer arms, and he is just recently filling out.
Yeah Floyd walks around at 150-155 and Hatton gets much heavier, but the difference is, Hatton puts on weight and gets fat. Floyd is a freak of nature who can eat anything he wants and still stay in shape. Not to mention he works out 365 days a year.
If anything Hatton will be stronger.Comment

That is the biggest misconception on the "old days".I'll say it again, Floyd was measuring ODLH, which means he put his hand in his face and kept him at a distance where he was unable to land punches do to the reach differential, like big kids do to little kids in cartoons. In the past plenty of defensive, awkard, ugly to watch fighters became champions (and stayed that way for a long time). On top of that with careers of 200+ fights defense was just much more honed by everyone.
In the old days being fan friendly did not matter as much, because there was a fraction of the money, which is now going around in boxing.
If anything, in the old days no judge would have scored the fight for Oscar.Comment

Newbie Boxing Fans.
You are correct, sir. That is the biggest misconception on the "old days".

Here is the reality: some posters on here are very jealous of Floyd, so they will be overly critical of anything he does. Either that, or they just started watching boxing last year.
Floyd has never - IN ANY FIGHT - been as defensive and , er, um, "elusive" as SRL was in the second Duran fight or for the Hagler fight. At one point in the Hagler fight, MMH was walking forward and saying "c'mon, let's fight". Ray was shaking his head "no". Ray was smart to fight his OWN fight and not get drawn in by the stronger man. He learned that lesson from Duran 1.
What is Willie Pep known for? Winning a round without ever throwing a punch. He had a VERY low KO %. He was known for speed and defense. And he is one of the greatest fighters ever.
Pernell Whitaker wasn't a killer. He outboxed you and made you look silly. And he is on my shortlist of GOATs.
Floyd was a HUNTER at every weight until he started fighting much bigger men. In what fights prior to Baldomir did PBF "run". And even the Baldomir fight, PBF was right there.... in the pocket. slipping and countering. Here is the proof: listen to that "bored" crowd.
Guys who are critical of Floyd's style just don't know the sport. Period.Comment
