The reason why guys get stood up is because they aren't doing anything on the ground. If they are laying and praying then they will have to stand up. I admit, sometimes the ref uses bad judgement and stands fighters up(IE, Gonzaga against Cro Cop), but for the most part the refs are accurate. Don't blame the ref for standing guys up, blame yourself for not doing anything.

When there is no activity, stand them up.
But lately, i've seen too much useless stand-ups, guy is working and Big John stands 'em up. Because those drunk redkecks start to boo.
There is difference between lay and pray, and working to pass guard, setting up the submission... Some ref's have problem realizing that.

It's all in the ref's judgement. Would you please provide some examples in bad stand ups?
