Who is he supposed to fight right now? Miguel Cotto?
Nope...he supposed to fight Superman and Spiderman with one hand tied behind his back.
RunW/Knives, I will repeat myself one more time...i've already explained that he should now consider to fight other prospect contenders, former 'washed up' champs that could give the young little innocent child better ring experience.
I'm not saying that he should fight The #1 Champion Title Holder of the world...i'm simply only stating that he should just move up a level or two in opposition. Can you comprehend that? I`m not putting him down or hating on him..It's called giving a "Constructive Criticism".

If he wasn't 21 years old, I'd agree.

But you're asking him to become a second coming of Fernando Vargas......and take his place as the most precocious fighter in the history of boxing. Sure he'll eventually fight better opponents.

Nobody "steps it up" at 21 years old, it's unheard of. End of story.

This isn't the second coming of Mike Tyson.

Are you new to boxing?? You ever heard of Floyd Patterson, Kid Chcoclate, Tyson, Benitez, Trinidad.. etc... Those guys won titles at age 21 and under.

But i'm not talking about Titles, i'm just saying Chavez jr should step up a notch or two to challenge himself. He has 33 wins..it's about time to move up to the Garbage truck drivers and forget the cab drivers.

          And stop bringing up his age...YES HE"S 21 a young ADULT!!!!! He's not 12!!

kudos again my friend. i can give a whole list of boxers who have stepped up the opposition at the age of 21!! 21 is not the new 13. he is a 21 yr old adult. you got that right. he also has 33 wins under his belt. if he was 3-0 at the age of 21 that would be a different story. people need to stop using his age and lack of amatuer career as an excuse. he can easily earn his stripes in the gym and gain a lot of experience from there. he really needs to step up just a bit. vargas's career wasnt ruined cuz he stepped up to quick. he beat down yory boy at 21, fought winky well, handled ike. but he just fought a beast in tito and took punishment. tito ruined his career. not "stepping it up too soon".

@ 21 i think Jr. still has the license to fight Cab drivers. Maybe he can step it up @24

Fighters optimum/Prime comes on different age.

Vargas was shot @25 ( more of the mental aspect )
                  Tyson was champ @20
                  Benitez was champ @ 17 or 18
                  PAC was champ @ 19
                  Morales was downhill from 29
Lennox Lewis' prime was when he was already 35 IMO

Evander thinks he can be undesputed @44, 45

                  and so on.....

so if jr's handlers feels that he's not ready yet then they might be right.

                    • Chavez Jnr should just step it up if he wants any real credit in the boxing world.
El Terrible's father threw him in against good fighters at an early age to see if he could swim and he could. The only way you get better is by fighter better fighters. So what if you loose, he could learn something in the process.
I know Jnr didn't have much on an am career, but he's not exactly fighting on ESPN. SO that's why I think I'm hard on him, he's on every TOP Rank PPV fighting above the likes of Soto etc.
