Haha, well it was actually just a joke, but I'm glad it sparked a giant fight between you two.

I haven't seen much of Jr. but what I do like about him is that he's gaining experience by fighting so frequently, even if his competition isn't all that great. I mean this kid just turned pro in Setember of 2003 and he already has 34 professional fights under his belt!!..

I really admire a fighter who fights this kind of schedule nowadays. It's almost unheard of...

        Quit Hating on Chavez Jr.................

i say guys need to quit hyping Jr.

young or not, most certainly unproven, and spoon fed opponents. this is a classic case where a record is over shadowing the fact that he's been put into fights that he can and should win. although it's a building process and it's obvious that it is, there is no reason to even consider Jr. a legitimate prospect or contender until he steps up his competition. i will say that he is getting better but if it weren't for specialized judging and favoritism in match making, he'd already have a loss or two on his record and thats a fact.

chavez jr's record is disguised to make him look better than he really is. they're trying to make him legitimate while he's learning, its a spin, and it appears to be working on some/most.

until he steps up the competition and wins one of those fights on his own, lighten up on the hyping of Jr., it's too soon to be given this untested, protected kid any real credit.

if his record was built up in the south where the commissions and the competition is weaker maybe it would be more clear to everyone and more people would be on the same page, but since his people are smart and having him fight softies all over and they have him fighting often, with putting the spin on everything, he looks great to those who want to have someone fill in his fathers place.

Of course the promoters, managers, etc. are hyping him; they want to 'milk every dollar' they can from his name, for all it's worth. However, ya got to give the kid a little respect for fighting so many fights in a short period of time...

              lmao.

Who is hyping him? Nobody. People are just sick and tired of hearing everyone make a big deal about a young boy who lacks an amateur career, fighting cannon fodder.

              Like it's never happened before.

It does bother me how much talk there is about this kid, he hasn't beaten anyone. I know his dad is Julio Cesar Chavez, but who gives a ****? Let's wait until he steps up to praise or talk dimes on him.

Maybe this so called "young boy" shouldn't be in a man's sport. He should either Man up and step up to the plate or go play soccer and call it a night.

I'm just pointing out that in Paulie's biggest fight he was beaten badly, and lost the fight on all cards clearly.

He followed that up with a decisive victory over a 36 year old journey man who was never a world beater to begin with. Outside of those two fights, he hasn't faced guys you can point to being better than the guys Chavez knocks out.

I can understand if someone states "Well based on what Malignaggi showed against Cotto in his biggest test I'd favor him to beat Chavez simply on the principal that he has fought a top fighter"

That's different than claiming Malignaggi has "beat the better level of opposition" that's just ****ing ******.

Malignaggi hasn't beat anyone, neither has Chavez.
