His record suggests greatest of all time, and I'm glad that in many analysts books he's not even top ten, because they know what that fake ass record consists of.
You're an idiot. Like everyone else posting **** about JCC. You wouldnt know an ATG from your ass.

I really think Chavez Jr. can hang with Williams, as someone said in here. He is very strong and sits on punches, especially the left to the body. Margarito was hurting williams to the body, i think in a year Chavez Jr takes him. Williams has no power, and Chavez is a better boxer than Margarito, so i dont think it would be a mismatch like people are pretending.

It is very ignorant to say he was a bum. He beat a lot of good and very good fighters such as Mario Martinez, Roger Mayweather x2, Ruben Castillo, Rocky Lockridge, Juan Laporte, Edwin Rosario, Rafael Limon, Jose Luis Ramirez, Meldrick taylor (if u think he didnt win the first one then watch the second, and sadly meldrick's career after the first one), John Duplessis, Macho Camacho, Greg Haugen, and Tony Lopez. He was especially a beast at 130 and 135 and even without including his controversail win over Randall and tie with Whitaker he is still easily a hall of famer. He fought a lot more than other fighters but when it comes down to it he fought as many huge fights as any other superstar, except he even fought lesser fighters in between those bouts, If you think that made his career easier you are an idiot, and if tyou think he's a bum then you must think everyone outside or sugar ray robinson is at best a c level fighter.

Chavez SR. was not a bum but he did fight a ****load of them before fighting in the states. The reason why he is revered is because he had so many fights at a time when that amount of fights was last seen in the 40's or 50's. He did beat good fighters but not great fighters with the possible exception of Camacho. He had wins over decent contenders like MAyweather, Haugen, Laporte, lockridge and Rosario. At 130 and 135 he beat contenders who were good but not great , no real standouts. He struggled as he went up to 140 and 147 , fortunate to stop taylor with 2 seconds to go, outclassed by Whitaker, beaten by Randall twice (Officials screwed randall in the second fight) and lost to ODLh twice with the second fight being stopped because he quit. I have respect for the man who made Mexico feel proud to have such a tenacious and relentless warrior but after 140 he fell off. The reason why Chavez is worshipped is because at the time that Chavez fought Mexico did not have another fighter that they could root for. Salvador Sanchez died in a car accident and he was well on his way in becoming a star in boxing. Chavez filled the void and benefitted from not having competion from boxing fans who could be split in rooting for another fighter. Morales and Barrera are two fighters that Mexico support but fans are split as to who they support more, chavezz had no competition so he became Mexico's idol. Chavez deserves respect but his career is debatable from objective fans who recognize his greatness but also recognize his limitations.

wait wait wait everyones talking about the taylor fight. but what baout the whitaker fight? WHY ARE PEOPLE SAYING HE WON THAT?
the people who argue against it claim whitaker was robbed, which clearly he was (of a victory)... but he was given a draw people so not even technically did chavez win that one

yep, that is what i've been saying for a long time now. Jr. is going to be 80-0 before he steps up the competition. not that it matters but if you check any previous relies to threads concerning Chavez Jr. you'll see that i've been saying this from the get go..................

like it or not, it's the truth...........

Yeah, I'm getting sick of Chavez Jnr on these PPV cards. He's fighting guys that are so much smaller than him. He needs to step it up or fight on ESPN undercards. Thanks Bob, but I'm done with JCC Jnr until he steps it up.

                      ^^^^^^
                      well put
i'll give chavez for his accomplishments becuz that is a lot of fights
but he didnt always face the greatest competition and that happens sometimes you cant fight everyone
some fans, alot of mexicans in particular worship him like he is some sort of god or something and act like he's the goat fighter but he isnt
                      but oh thats opinions
chacevz jr hasnt really impressed me yet but he is young and will get better i would assume
what is he fighting at 140? he should stay in that division or go to super welter 154
cuz he would get massacred at 147 its too deep
he'd be better working on his skills and tryin to get a belt at one of those divisions before tryin to take on welter
if he waits mayve 3 or 4 years he may have a chance at welter
by then floyd will be retired, cotto becuz of his style will be damaged goods and the only person he would have to worry about is williams

btw alfonso gomez isnt that great of a fighter
he's ok but he's nowhere close to elite

so chavez should step up and fight him it would be good for both fighters
