Americans just buy into whatever is being sold to them. Corporate sponsors run the sports world. They know Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhard, Jr, but have no idea about Michael Schumacher.

I agree, rugby is tougher than football, but even so, it's smart to wear the equipments, safety comes first.

          No he was not.

At what point was Beckham better than Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Figo, Zidane, or Thierry Henry?

well I don't think he is better than Zidane or Ronaldo, and when he was at his peak, Ronaldinho was not a big namer like he is now, and i think he had the most accurate shot in the world, he had better foul shots then Henry, believe me. i think beckhams great foul shots made him one of the best in the world.

Beckham was for a few years considered the best right sided midfielder in the world...without a doubt....and all your doing is pointing out peple who play in different positions.....btw figo has always lacked pace..and altho he posseses quality in his feet.and is strong and can dribble..never has the passing skill set of beckham..infact none of the players u have mentioned above do....but yes ronaldhino was the best soccer player in the world 2004-2005 ...however zidane is the best player out of that bunch...class (kobe and iverson rolled into one )

Shawne Merriman. 6'4" 275 pounds. Runs the 40 yard dash in 4.6 seconds. Bench press of almost 400 pounds, squat press of about 600. Give me ONE rugby player with those physical abilities and I'll give you 5 more football players. If you get hit by someone his size, strength and speed without protection, you DIE. Please don't talk about what you don't know.

True. Corporate sponsors do run the sports world, and the sheeple are manipulated by the media. If the US media promoted and hyped great boxers like Hatton and Wladimir Klitschko, they would become very popular in America.
