I voted for ESPN. Just because, hey its free. They try to have two telecast a week. Also I think they are trying to help the sport, with the contender series. Teddy and Joe make a great team. I know HBO has the more must see fights but as far as ambition for the sport I go with ESPN.

Al Berndstein is probably my favorite announcer.

Lamps is up there, but see there's a huge problem with how ****ing biased the HBO staff can get. The worst combination is listening to Manny, Lamps, and Larry go off on a five minute discussion about why someone is losing a fight when they're ****ing clearly winning it.

At points I get so annoyed I turn down the volume. Steward is a great trainer, but he sucks as an announcer because of his outrageous bias.

I agree, it was strange watching the Morales vs. Diaz fight with out the HBO Team. It lacked the usual hype that the guys give it. I hope this isn't a trend with Arum, it's the second Top Rank PPV this year.

This is also very true, ESPN do try and do a lot for the sport, they showcase young up and coming fighters. I feel HBO could do more for the sport, they seem to make a diligent effort only when the likes of DLH are fighting. The HBO website has gone to ****, they hardly update it with fight lead ups anymore.

I don't imagine HBO was willing to put up enough $ for Diaz-Morales. Diaz had never fought on the network (or on national TV either I don't think) and Morales was on a losing streak...

ESPN's best effort is on the ESPN Classic channel where they have boxing at 8 pm and 12 am every weeknight, and often on weekends - sometimes marathons on weekends, too.

Shobox is best for prospects by far. ESPN just isn't getting the quality of fighters any more, likely because of budget constraints. We get a lot of journeymen fighters, gatekeepers, has-beens, to go with the rare sure-fire prospect matchup...
