Don't get me wrong I like Cotto, I like his style out of the ring, how he represents and I like that he comes to fight. I also think he has tremendous potential, I'm just thinking a little early yet.

Anyone think that maybe it's a bit early for him?

you an idiot and must be new too boxing...nobody fights 10 years before they start taking on world class competition...after about 25 fights you can take on world class comp

Mosley hasn't looked good at WW since Adrian Stone, and that was in 2001. He then lost two straight to Vernon, moved up to 154, and then back down again to face two stiffs in Estrada and Cruz (where he looked less than stellar, average, even). Then back to 154 and now he comes back down to 147 and fights Collazo who, if he hadn't injured himself, would've given Mosley a much harder fight.

Mosley looks sluggish at 147, probably because of the weight he has to lose to make it. He's getting old and his body doesn't respond that well to weight loss anymore. That's why he has adopted the B-Hop style of boxing: one punch and hold.

Cotto will punish that body whenever Shane dives in to connect his one punch before holding. I don't see this fight going the way Mosley wants it to. Cotto UD.

He can waste his prime and fight bums and THEN fight Mosley. Or he can have his best chance at beating Mosley while he's peaking. I say, perfect timing. Gotta step up to THIS class, sooner or later. Thankfully, he did, and it was sooner. Respect to Cotto.

He's as ready as he's ever going to be. I actually think he's slowed down a bit, but mentally and physical strength wise, he's probably in his prime. Theres no use at all in fighting weaker competition because his style only gives him a brief prime. He needs to take advantage now.

He is a champ at 140 and 147. Please explain to me how this is too early? Its time for him to fight at this level from here on out.
