Cotto taking on Mosley too early?

Honestly I'm a little surprised that Cotto is taking this fight so early. I did think his performance against Zab was good, but Mosley is in another class. Definitely a step up for Cotto.

Don't get me wrong I like Cotto, I like his style out of the ring, how he represents and I like that he comes to fight. I also think he has tremendous potential, I'm just thinking a little early yet.

Anyone think that maybe it's a bit early for him?

Good post. I was also surprised to hear that Cotto was gogin to fight Mosley. I guess he has gained lots of confidence recently.

this is the right fight for him right now...this would be a big step of cotto (if he wins) of taking over the welterweight division and another step close to fight mayweather(if he wins).

In my opinion, he beat the ever-living **** out of Zab judah. Zab Judah has never taken an ass beating like that ever. He may have went 11 rounds with cotto, but he didn't enjoy one second of that ass beating with his screwed up eye. So, I completely disagree from what the topic creator is saying, saying that it wasn't a good performance. No one has ever beat zabs ass like that.

lol no but i can see that Mosleys style is wrong for Cotto, he has power and speed and he can hold up mentally. Judah caught him a few times b4 bitching out, Mosley has power to KO Vargas at 154 he will hurt Cotto 4 sure.

No...I think its the right time. Better Shane beat him and get a rematch then losing to the likes of a lesser name. Get the money while he can. I just think its a short matter of time before Cotto gets beat. I love watching him and a fan, but theres some unfixable c h i n k's in his armor IMO.

Mosely wont be a moving heavy bag come fight night. Dude can fight.

It's cuz Cotto is a true warrior. He won't duck anyone, when he says i'll fight whoever they put in front of me he means it.

Elite, I stated that his performance was good. And I was impressed that he handled Zab's speed. I think what I'm hearing is that it's a good strategic move and that he needs to step up at this time? I guess can see that. But do you think he's ready? Kudos to him for stepping up for sure.
