I don't understand what about Ricky Hatton suggests to people that he can beat Mayweather, and I guess I never will. The fight won't even be close though, if it does make it to the end of the 12th, which it might not, expect a wide margin of victory by PBF. Argue the rest all you want, I personally am a huge fan of Floyd's, but I can think of about 8-9 other fighters off the top of my head at 147 that would not only wipe the floor with Hatton, but also that I would've liked to see PBF fight instead of beating up on a slightly overrated Hatton. I'm not even really convinced he could beat the other 140 pound title-holders.

I know you guys want to see him lose, but trust me, Ricky Hatton is setting his fans up for failure. You are being tricked...I'm not even sure he really believes he can win this fight.

Well I just came back to this thread without even viewing it once since posting it. Forgot about it. I haven't read every post but someone mentioned Floyd has will to have done all his accomplishements, yeah no doubt. I'm not saying he's got no will. I'm saying maybe that someone with a greater will that wants to win it so bad no matter what the heck he has to do in there, just might overcome Floyd's obvious advantages. Whether Hatton is the man to do it or not remains to be seen but I get the impression, he wants to win this for all of Manchester as they'll have an unbelievable star in Ricky who already is a star. But a man that beat the man regarded the best fighter on the planet? I really think he's gonna be motivated for this one.

                Challenge: what history is that?

Here is some history: Pernell Whitaker outclasses Chavez. SRL makes Duran quit in frustration after a close first fight.
Here's some history: Duran beats the bigger and more skilled Leonard in a close first fight. LaMotta beats the far more skilled Ray Robinson in a close first fight. Frazier beats the far more skilled Ali in a close first fight. They all lost the rematch, which would be my prediction for Hatton should there be a rematch.

The weight of history is there. Hatton has the will, he has the hunger going into this fight. Mayweather had already retired believing that he had proven all there was to prove. So there's no denying whose will is greater in this fight. Hatton feels he has everything to prove.

People in hell want ice-water. We can't always get something just because we want it badly. Hatton is going to get murdered in that ring and he knows it. This ain't a movie.

The clinching will be addressed way before these two step in the ring. The ref will be school on this. Take that away from Hatton and ask yourself what Hatton's boxing skill set is like.
floyd clinches a good bit too...especially vs dlh..

oh please, floyd has fought bigger, stronger pressure fighters before and dominated. you think he's going to lose now that he has a reach advantage and no size disadvantage?
