it's an interesting thread, thats what it is. I think the judges will score based on punches landed, which is not as easy as it sounds with a defense like mayweathers vs a style like Hattons. If they score punches landed to the chest, body and glancing blows pretty equal to crisper counters, then they will be more likely to favour hatton. When I score I tend to favour cleaner punching but remember one judge scored dlh-mayweather for oscar.......when I had it 116-112 Mayweather.

We'll see if he can pull it off because as mentioned a lot of times, sometimes will can be stronger than anyone's skill in the ring.
I voted for Yes, he can but it will be tough.

However, not because of the reason you stated. Too many people confuse the work slick boxer with not tough. Look at Paulie he is slick but that guy has a huge set of balls and is very tough. Pernell was super tough and even finished a fight in which he had a broken jaw for 5-6 rounds.

There isn't anything that could lead anyone to believe that PBF isn't tough. He is a professional and as cold as ice in the ring and is probably just as tough as Hatton.

err, they've merged two different threads here, one on whether Hatton can win and the other on the impact aggression will have on the fight.

Maybe BPP can just supermerge all of $in's threads into one steaming pile of ****e

I just don't see how Hatton can beat Mayweather. After getting a gift against a tricky boxer in Collazo, how can one pick Hatton to win when Mayweather is faster and trickier than Collazo.

Mayweather is no where near as as strong as Hatton

No where near as good an inside fighter, Rickys won all his fights on the inside, if floyd was so good why does he dance on the outside instead of giving what the fans want which is getting involved. Plus for any fighter they have both fought, Ricky has beaten the fighter more convincingly on the inside than Mayweather has done by dancing about

How can mayweather be more experienced when hattons fought more fights

As for more accustomed to huge events, sorry mate but u have no idea. Floyd fights infront of his 4 friends and his family, Ricky fills arenas

as for your other points, I agree

The judges for Mayweather-DLH didn't score that way. Also the punch numbers for the fight were bogus (they didn't count all those body shots DLH landed in the clinches). I thought Mayweather won, but barely.

It has...the naysayers have yet to realize that Floyd ain't losing until he beats himself. Meaning when he gets older and can no longer do what he does now or if he loses focus, that is the only way he ever loses. Ricky hatton doesn't have what it takes, he doesn't have the will nor the skill. And where was this will when Urango was tearing his insides out?

He beat a castillo post Mayweather and 2 diego corrales fights which means he didn't really beat the Castillo we normaly see. Mayweather is more experinced because he has fought more experinced fighters in champioship fights. How many championship fights does hatton have?

Sorry. Floyd already had his near-miss.

Also, Floyd won't try to keep Hatton away from him. Ricky will find that Floyd is a better inside fighter than he is. Floyd will carve Ricky up with short , chopping punches inside. Hooks, upperscuts, body shots. Floyd will bust Ricky up on the inside... what will be Hatton's 'Plan B'?[/QUOTE]

WOW what a nuthugger... LMAOOO Floyd better than Hatton on the inside your funny. I guarantee you that Floyd will not go on the inside once with Hatton because he knows hes gonna get hit and smothered.
