I saw before a fight a while back (can't remember which one) a little documentary on Hatton, to build up his fight, that he was having trouble making 140. This was quite a while back. It wasn't just random "experts" saying this, it was Hatton's team.

So how can you have a strong chin when you got rocked by a weak puncher?

yah that was before kerry kayes came on board (hattons strengh and conditioning coach) to offer profesional help on the subject since then hatton has breezed the wieght

Ok. Thanks for the info. Still, I can't imagine he could make 135 and still be able to walk to the ring. That last 5 pounds is a ***** (ask Castillo or Corrales RIP).

I will find the quote where Ricky said that 140 was tough.

Advance notice: Ricky Hatton turned pro at 19-ish at 140 pounds. TEN YEARS LATER, he is STILL at 140 pounds. Despite weighing in above 140 for several of his bouts. Apparently, he is one of those people who gains no weight throughout his twenties.

I'll try and go find the quote. Gimme a bit of time.

He used to struggle with the weight because he had no diet and used to baloon between fights, he got kerry kayes on the case and he hits 140 easily, hell he weighed 139 vs urango.
