    Of course...

If the Vitali of old comes back, i'd put him in the top 10 p4p ( if he beats Peter...)

      1. turn ur caps off.

      2. wlad's already on the p4p's doorstep. unifying the titles would make him p4p #1.

      3. floyd's #1 right now. looking at it in black and white, you can see why. look at it in color, does he really deserve it? the biggest thing hes done in the past few years is collect 2 WW titles and get a big money fight with oscar. not to say thats not impressive, but wlad unifying the titles (something floyd's never done) and knocking out the other champions (something floyd hasnt done since gatti) would knock floyd off his p4p throne.

You don't expect a guy the size of Klitschko to be the speed of Manny Pacquiao, do you? Do you expect Juan Diaz to hit like Mike Tyson? Pound for pound fighter is based on your relative skill for your division - if someone is faster, a bigger puncher, and has better movement than Floyd Mayweather they could still be bottom of the barrel if, like Zab Judah, they don't have the mental toughness and skill to put their assests to work in the ring. To be pound for pound you just have to be the relative best - in the sense that you outshine all others in the sport based on the toughness of your opposition, your performance in the ring, etc.

            Technically speaking - No

But in practice it happened with Tyson who was p4p at some point.

And, imo, HW champ does not need the p4p title, he is ALREADY the best fighter in the boxing.

Power is not all there is, though. There's speed, footwork, defense- things that are important regardless of your weight class. Are you telling me Ali was never a pound for pound great? That big men are only good because of their size? It's not the size that makes a great heavyweight great- it's what they can do with their size. If it was just how big they are then Valuev would be the supreme ruler of the heavyweight division forever. Just as smaller men use their agility and speed to make them better, so do heavyweights use their power and size as a weapon- but it's not the whole picture. Pound for pound greats can come from any division...it depends on how they use their strengths.

Tyson and Ali deserved to be in the p4p rankings (in the mid 80s and in the mid 60s i would say). But other than that.

Fighting people smaller than you does not help at all.

Floyd Mayweather is way faster than most of his opponents, so that disqualifies him, too. Right?
