i hear what your saying but hopkins is a fighter who rarely puts on a lot of weight during a fight, when he was at middleweight, he would weigh in at around 157-160 lbs, then on fight nights he would hardly put on any weight, his body or weight was not bigger than a lot of his opponents on fight night. i do respect what your saying and agree that he has beaten guys smaller than him, but regardless, some of the guys he beat are future hall of fame fighters and very good fighters at that.

Bhops story is better...jail house to the penthouse. Great story.

Putting on muscle weight effectively @ over 40 is amazing, plus the defenses. Bhop. Its a tight one though. PBF is so much better of a fighter.

Plus Bhop has beat a fighter who's never been beat in his prime.

There was so much talent and fights Hopkins could've went after back in the day, but he choose not to. His bad.

3 of his biggest wins are against guys smaller than him.
but his place in history wasn't secured because he beat Tito and Oscar - those fights put his name in the mainstream market. It was his cleaning out the middleweight division (up until his pair of controversial losses to Taylor), and then moving up to beat Tarver the way he did, that secures his place in history.

It's a tough choice. I would give an edge to Hops as far as names go but alot of them were moving up in weight and not natural MW's.

            Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Not even close for me. Imagine Floyd being at 147 and fighting Juan Diaz. He'd be crucified for it right?

            Right...

              Mayweather.

              Hopkins is an opportunist.

2 of my most favorite fighters. They're both credited with impressive stuff throughout their careers, stuff that 90% of boxers today (& retired)couldn't even begin to say. Couldn't even vote on this one, DIG IT?!?

hopkins....his results a really impressive, and he has fought some great fighters and beat them.
and at 42 still being able to be at the top, its amazing.

I voted Hopkins, based on the middleweight defense record. I don't care if he drained himself to 160 instead of staying at 175. Just like I dont care that Paul Williams must do the same thing, Diego Corrales (R.I.P.) as well. If you can pull it off and still be able to perform, why not?
