I wouldn't be mad at someone going for B-Hop. Bernard beat a blown up Trinidad, DLH, and Wright(well not really) to be honest. He did have very good wins and is a legend, but Floyd has gone up in weight beating every opponent. Its tough for me to decide.
Middleweight Champion 20 title defenses (some were weak)
5 division Champion 5 Different Weightclasses (Gatti, and Baldomir weak opposition but were champions)
Maybe the edge to Bernard, but if Floyd beats a big name he could get the nod.Comment

Hopkins is a boxing legend mayweather isnt half the boxer. he'll have to do something pretty big to make him a legend.

I give more credit to someone who holds a belt for 20 defenses. You set yourself up as THE MAN TO BEAT and you take on all challengers. They know where you are.
Leaping up in weights and not taking on the strongest in the divisions you move to doesn't impress me as much.
I would not have given Hopkins huge credit for Maskaev if he'd got the fight. That would be an example of cherry picking. His fights with Winky and Tarver who WERE very highly regarded and major challenges make his resume seem even better.
IF Floyd takes on the other WW champs and unifies again then I will happily tout him as the best fighter of our era.Comment
