He's a physically gifted fighter, for a guy over 6ft he has super fast hands and great stamina.

He's not gifted in the skills department though!!

I hope Hopkins steps up because he's been fighting easy fights and would get a good payday against Calzaghe. Saying that i doubt he needs it after the DLH fight.

JC is a great fighter, however, he doesnt want to fight anyone that has a chance to beat him........strange man......

I dont understand!? he only wants to fight guys with a chance of beating him - Tarver, Johnson, Hopkins.

Maybe you should say Calzaghe doesnt get the chance to be beaten because the named fighters wont fight him!!

Calzaghe had the chance for Johnson and blew it by pissing him about, I'll be amazed if he ever fights lacy, tarver or johnson, if he is going to 175 he needs to fight a genuine top tenner since he won't be justified in getting a title shot anyway

Maybe the WBO should make a good fighter mandatory!! Its the same as the Hopkins situation, making him fight Allen for a 3rd time. If the Champions want to keep their belt they have to beat these **** mandatory fighters. Its wrong.

Come on though lee, most of joes mandatories or fights are wank, and Hopkins has 3 (now 4) lots of sanctioning bs to deal with, Joe's got the weakest title and did mess Johnson about no end, one minute he's going to 175 to get another title then it's like actually I can make 168 still i'll stay here, he needs defining fights at one weight or the other, **** the belt it never did MAB any harm doing so

I love Lacy and I love JC, LAcy is a bit too young still, if an edge is too be given it's to Joe. Everyone should admit that Joe is the type of fighter that you never want to miss fight, he is very quick and loves to flat out brawl. Watch his battle with Charles Brewer. there are few fighters on the planet that can just sit in a phone booth and exchange bombs with Charles Brewer for 12 rounds! As for BHOP and those of you who think Tarver is a possibility, forget it! NArd will never go for that, he wants Tito, Hoya2 or probably the winner of Wright/Mosely. Hopkins fights for pennies outside of those two-he could make some coin with Tarver but he will never move up...never. As I recall Hopkins was offered ten million to fight three or four fights on showtime. Harry Simon was the first of them I believe. Anways the last fight was Calzaghe and Nard declined, most people I am around think that Nard would knockout Calzaghe-NO Way! Joe is huge, his walk around weight is definately not his fighting weight!

                Tale of the tape
                NARD CALZAGHE
                Hand speed advantage joe

                Power advantage joe

Chin even(only even because of the weight otherwise bhop's chin would get the edge)

This is why Hopkins did not take that fight along with the fact that it was only a 10 million dollar deal instead of 20.

I agree, but Calzaghe not only wanted to beat Eubank but to take his record.

Calzaghe will struggle to get a defining fight with or without the belt, if he does it will be when he's slowing down and easier to beat, in a couple of years when he's lost his physical abillitys someone will take Calzaghe out and i hope he gets is defining fight in 2005 and retires before that happens.

Tarver, Johnson and Nard know Calzaghe would be a handful at their age.

They are the same size, their both big super middles.

Boxers visable size can be misleading, a fighter who runs a lot will always look smaller than a fighter who doesnt, Their body changes to make the physical activies easier, the fighter who runs becomes a more solid streamline fighter and the one who doesnt looks like a bodybuilder.

Just because Lacy looks bigger than Calzaghe doesnt mean he's stronger. The only way you can find that out is by watching there strength in action, and Lacy has yet to prove he's stronger than Calzaghe in the ring.

You have mentioned you fight yourself, have you ever out muscled a guy who's bigger than you? sure you have heavyhands!! Any fighter who couldnt beat on the bodybuilders who come to spar would be a ****ing soft *****!!
