Hatton was originally scheduled to face juan lazcano at 140 before he pulled out, hbo then suggested collazo as an opponent, who was really the only fight out there. Hatton had no time at all to become comfortable at the weight.

To adamk, this is why I talk as if it's 100% sure Floyd will win. I've never SAID that it's 100% sure, but I don't see Hatton as having any chance. Floyd is the best defensive fighter right now AND the most accurate puncher, just like Technical Skill said, and that is why we laugh when Hatton fans say that he will beat Floyd - because it just defies logic.

Gatti is a fighter with no tactical sense. Hatton has this in abundance and a smart trainer. Gatti tried to outbox Floyd, Hatton knows his limits and won't stand off him to get picked off all night.

I think i've made it clear in this thread i'm perfectly reasonable and have a decent amount of knowledge. You come out with the same **** every single post and it's just not worth my time arguing with you.

I'm going bed now, argue amongst yourselves

NEITHER IS HATTON. all he does is lunge in and hug and wrestle, which is fine i aint sayin hes a **** fighter cuz of that, but he is not on the level of floyds skills, not even knockin on the door. u think he can jus get inside that easily on floyd? both of ricky's eyes will be shut, swelled, and bleeding by the 7th round...

I'm not a Floyd Mayweather fan but I think there is absolutely no chance that Hatton can win.

I don't really expect hatton to win, i even picked floyd by decision in a poll on here a few weeks ago, i just think it would be ridiculous to write hatton off.

Goddamn will you listen to yourself?

"Hatton had no time at all to become comfortable at the weight."

THEN WHY DIDNT HE JUST GO TO THE FIGHT AS IF IT WAS A 140 FIGHT

Floyd went to the Oscar fight as if it was a 147 fight and WON - when you go up a wieght classed you are not REQUIRED to weigh the limit of that division. That's what they are, LIMITS, that means that's the MOST you can weigh, but if you feel comfortable at less, then go ahead, like Floyd did. That is why this excuse that he "had to gain 7 pounds" is bull****.

i said he is the same type of fighter as gatti
No he isn't. The only similarity is heart. Gatti is a boxer punhcer, not a pressure fighter. Sure Arturo has been known to take it into the trenches and his mistake against Floyd was failing to do so and trying to box. Hatton is a much better fighter than Gatti, and has a gameplan of attacking the body and throwing a lot of punches.

Mayweather has to be the favourite, but Hatton's style favours an upset. It's hard to pick your counters when your opponent keeps throwing punches.

On the contrary, the more punches your opponent throws, the more countering opportunities you have, because whenever he throws a punch, an opening is created.

Hatton would've lost to collazo if he came in any lighter, he relies on his physical strength to beat his opponents and i think that was the only thing that kept him in the fight.

**** it, i'll stay up another 5 minutes.

It seems you can appreciate tactics when it's implemented in one style (hitting and running) but not another (hitting and clinching).

Skill alone doesn't win you fights. Hatton has alot of tactical ability and if you understood his game, mentality and the work that goes on in his corner you would realise that.

He needed to get inside Tszyu and not let him get full leverage into his shots. Done. He needed to clinch his way to victory in the second half of the Urango fight due to chest infection. Done. He realised Castillo was changing his defence and crossing his arms leaving a spot to the body open and took advantage. Done. He approached the Magee fight as he normally would, got knocked on his ass in the first round - got up and altered tactics to get a comfortable decision.

I could go on, but you get the point.

With Gatti, he puts less empthasis on tactics and just goes in there to fight.
