    Pretty Boy vs Hitman

This is how i see the fight.

Press conferences promoting the fight - Floyd gets all mouthy, is throwing down the verbal insults, etc. Meanwhile, Hatton reacts calmly and comes out with witty comments and to some extent embarasses Floyd. Floyd gets a little jealous during the whole build up due to the fact so many people like Ricky and his laid back style and the fact he has so many fans.

Both train very hard for it at 147. Both come in at 145ish, but weigh about 150 on fight night.

Rounds 1 to 3 - Floyd wins about 2 rounds by hitting and moving. However, he's made to work very hard - but he just does enough. At this point he thinks he's in control but he will be surprised by Hatton's handspeed and footwork. Hatton will get inside but not quite do enough to win the round.

Rounds 4 to 6 - Hatton comes into the fight a little more after recieving some instructions from his corner to calm down. He boxes cleverly and wins rounds on aggression and volume of punches. He lands some meaty bodyshots during these rounds. Floyd will continue to try and run and outbox him. However, halfway through the fight they will both be very close on points.

Rounds 7 to 9 - There might be a knockdown - maybe Hatton is dropped but it's not a clean shot - or there is a really scrappy round where Hatton is getting to Mayweather who keeps complaining to the referee about the rough stuff inside. The fight is still fairly even. Floyd begins trading more after he realises he isn't in a comfortable lead. He lands some good shots and begins to mark Hatton up. Hattong gets cut, but so does Floyd. Hatton though, is forcing PBF to fight and giving as good as he is getting.

Rounds 10 to 12 - Floyd is beginning to breathe a little heavily. He's been taking bodyshots all throughout the fight and been roughed up. Mentally for this fight, and given the pace Hatton has been fighting at, he expects Hatton to slow down so that Floyd can win the later rounds and seal victory. However, in the 10th he gets broken down mentally as he loses another round and Hatton will not slow as he continues to work inside. Floyd begins to think 'how do i get this guy off me?'. In the last couple of rounds, Hatton is coming on strong and Floyd realises he must trade because at this stage of the fight he can not win rounds by boxing - Hatton's aggression and volume of punches is winning him alot of rounds. Floyd fights but to no avail. He throws alot of right hands but none are slowing Ricky down. Floyd gets seriously hurt by Hatton's bodyshots as the fight comes to a close.

This fight will turn out to be a classic, on the level of Ali/Frazier/Forman, Leonard/Duran/Hagler/Hearns... It could honestly be 50/50 on the cards, but i believe due to Hatton's aggression and stamina in the later rounds he wins the fight by about 2 rounds. This fight will be exciting and will have drama, although Hatton will implement a certain amount of holding inside - although he's gonna dominate the inside fighting anyway everytime he backs Floyd up. After the fight, Floyd moans about all the holding and a rematch is made.

ima tell tha truth, I just dont see that, i think Mayweather is gonna pick Hatton apart, he's gonna find every weakness and exploit it an win a UD or late TKO, IMO

        not a bad analysis, but

        1) why would hatton need his corner to tell him to calm down?

        2) Mayweather breathing heavily in the later rounds? you got to be kidding me. Mayweather's stamina is one of the few sure things in boxing

          oh yeah

          3) why would mayweather be so ****** to expect Hatton to slow down late, it happened how many times... ONCE, TWICE in 40 fights?

Rounds 1-3: mayweather dances and pop shots ricky. ricky tries to lunge in very powerfully and ungracefully, but floyd keeps pickin him off and movin.

Rounds 4-7: ricky is bruised and possibly cut, he continues to try and get inside on mayweather, bein successful a few times, ricky will think he can unleash, which he does, and mayweather blocks slips and parries all but maybe 2 or 3 hits, and continues hitting and stepping away from ricky.

Rounds 5-8: mayweather gets a little aggressive. lots of lead rights and counter left hooks, ricky is frustrated, and loses what little technique he had in frustration and tries to land a big bomb where he gets wild and allows mayweather to shoot straight shots down the pipe all night.

Round 9-10: mayweather in and out head, body, head body, head body.

Round 11: Mayweather TKO Ricky. everyone shuts their mouths...

There are alot of possibilities on who will win this fight and how. I've gone with the Hatton UD or late KO via bodyshot.

I know Floyd is smart, but in his last few fights he's fought old fighters who cannot keep up the pace for 12 rounds and he's never fought anybody with the stamina of Hatton. He will be relying on Hatton to slow down and steal some rounds but i don't think it will happen. Floyd will then either panic and go into his shell or he will open up and trade. Either way, Hatton breaks him mentally and finishes him from there.

Hatton is capable of doing this as long as he doesn't mark up and eat punches all night.

Good effort but I think Floyd will be too canny and will jab and poke Hatton and keep him at arms length, then move smoothly away. Again and again. Hatton will have to be lucky. He might bruise Floyd's ribs badly but Floyd will be trying to blind Hatton with jabs and the cuts and bruising are the most likely stoppage.
I think it will be a dull points win to Floyd.
Another day at the bank. I meant office.
This fight must still be made. I'd love to be proven wrong cause then we'd see Floyd go after everyone to recover his pride. Williams and Cotto after Hatton and I'll sign any petition to H.O.F Floyd.

Hatton tends to get carried away in the earlier rounds. He starts fast but without little method. Once he calms down and gets in the groove he shows his class.

Ok, he might not be breathing heavily, but he'll be tired having shifted a fair amount of bodyshots and he will become dis-spirited by Hatton's relentless attack.

Since when has mayweather fought aggressively?? even against baldomir, a guy who was completely over-matched, floyd spent the whole night on the outside landing pitty-pat punches. The only decent fighters that mayweather has stopped are corrales and chavez, and those fights took place a long time ago at floyd's best weight.
