how can anyone respect hopkins dirty fighting????????.........thats totally ****ed up........

all i can say is if yesterday's fight wouldve been called floyd mayweather vs ricky hatton, and hatton did that dirty stuff to floyd, everybody on this forum would have floyd winning and would be screaming for hatton to be banned of boxing..............

The only thing that left me disgusted is that Hopkins was able to go home and make sweet love to his wife, while Wright was not able to do that.

dirty fighting is fighting, if guys did want to be in or around dirty fighting then they should stay either in the amateurs with head gear and tighter rules or not get in the ring. fighting is beyond boxing, fighting dirty is a strategy to get the other guy off his game plan. it's all apart of the package, boxers either need to get tough or lose......................

Thats not what this is about. I personally quite like dirty fighting. I respect fighters who do everything they can to win, I just hate the double-standards.

Fans make me dislike Mayweather (even though I respect him as an exceptional fighter...I dont like his attitude, but thats a different matter) because they criticise Hatton for 'boring clinching' when Mayweather running and pot-shotting makes for just about the most boring match you can possibly imagine.

Then the Hopkins/American fans make me dislike Hopkins (though I respect him as a great fighter and champion with an impressive legacy) because the same people slag off Hatton for 'clinching' or 'being dirty' while they completely overlook when Hopkins does the same thing...or worse...deny it.

and yeah people complain about Hatton's clinching because he is not american
