You know what would be interesting? If someone could post each trainers' overall record.

Yeah, got to agree. Steward's the best since Eddie Futch died. If I was a fighter and Manny wanted to train I'd be down on my knees screaming "thank you God".

There is also a difference between how good a trainer is at working a corner, and how good they are in the gym.

Emanuel Steward is good at one thing in my eyes. He is good at turning tall fighters into fighter that use their jab to setup that Hydrogen bomb of a Right hand he teaches them to throw.

Steward is basically an Tommy Hearns factory. He takes in guys built like Tommy Hearns, and he gets them in the ring fighting like Tommy Hearns.

This is the reason I would crap my pants if Emanuel got ahold of Paul Williams.

Will it doesnt have to go that way. Because you may have someone giving you good tips but you are not doing it, there is no use in that. imagine like Nassem Hamed and Jermian Taylor.

anyway one of the best trainer also that people wrote him off comes from Britian. He trained Nassem Hamed and Junior Witter he is Brendan Ingle.

Roach has the best training in the world I even bought all of his DVDs to help me train poly metrics that he use build speed and power and if you watch a Manny pacquiao sparring video his abs are so conditioned when he sparrs he lifts his arms up and lets people hit him in the stomach you cant top that

....Why is McGirt on this list? lou duva is a better trainer than him.
Duva is an experienced guy, no doubt but remember his advice to Taylor in the Chavez fight? Possibly the worst decision by a trainer in history.

U know..... like I say, you take any so called great trainer and I could easily bring him a fighter who he has no influence or connection with..and the fact is that so many people say so and so is a great trainer but the bigger fact ios that they dont even know for sure why they are saying it.... I mean, you could take an endeavor where there are so many intangibles in deciding if someone is good at it or not and spin it many differnt ways....who REALLY knows if a guy is a good trainer when u have not been in the gym with them and watched them and know what u are looking at...if a guy is a great trainer and his fighter goes out and gets blasted ou with 1 punch..is the guy not a great trainer anymore..? or what if he gives the guy GREAT advice but for whatever reason the guy cannot excute it? If he gives gives superb advice and the fighter doest use it is the guy a great trainer still? How about the guy that is 18-0 with 18 KO's..is that guys trainer great because of his figthers record? Its a VERY complex argument and I for one and believing that boxing is the type of sport where there is no real way to say anyone is the greatest trainer

Well, when it comes down to it, Manny always comes to mind. His advice in the corner is always fantastic, and you can actually SEE the advancements a fighter makes after Manny starts to train them.

The only problem is he sometimes makes fighters less exciting, but more effective. but oh well. also he tends to need fighters who THINK and can adjust...you give him someone who has natural talents and physical attributes and not a ton of versitility, aka Taylor and Hamed.

Roach seems like a trainer who is simply very solid. Doesnt train anything fantastic, but his training camps always seem to get the fighter in excellent shape.

I wish there was a list of trainers and fighters and everything.
