Kessler is a star WITHOUT coming to the States and so is Joe. He can do something none of the 'stars' save Oscvar can do...sell tickets. He can come to NYC tomorrow and bring Danes with him and be a bigger payday for anyone than all but a handful of corporate subsidized, no-ticket selling HBO guys.

The 2 best in the division. Peopple will still try and say they dont know how good kessler is yet, but people have been clamouring about how good Kessler was for a quite a while now, to try to get Joe to fight Kessler. While Joe really wanted JT and Hopkins and co, people twisted Joes arm and said fighting Kessler would be more of a challenge for him.

We cant make excuses now, weve dug our own grave. Weve sung Kesslers praises to get Joe to fight him. We cant say it aint a superfight now. People have said they will give Joe credit for beating Kessler. More than for when Joe beat Lacy which was a maybe not superfight but a massive fight at the time. If Joe v JT or Wright would have been a superfight then i dont see why Kessler v Joe isnt one?
I consider a superfight one of those fights that casual fans are just as interested in as diehard boxing fans. Kessler-Calzaghe is a good fight, but outside of hardcore boxing circles no one is really pumped for this fight.

Would HBO even think for a second about not buying for the DLH-Mayweather fight? Hell no. But they are still thinking about buying this one and even allowed the window of exclusivity to expire, which allowed Showtime to even throw their hat in the ring. This is just not a superfight. A great fight, but not a superfight. There's a difference...

By that definition Sin, this is a superfight in Europe and may get close to one here. With Brian Kenny doing his best to force it on regular SportsCenter from signing on, this fight could gain mo. Tell you what though...this is where fans matter. Tell people who you know don't watch boxing but who would be interested in a potential war about it NOW...keep telling them. Then they'll be at a bar and see a guy on TV and go "Oh yeah, my boxing freak freind said..." and that's how it gets started. Real fans have to force fights like this and Pavlik-Taylor on people who have fan potential. I make a point of making fans all the time and have a slew of 'casuals' already hyped for this. Hell, my lawyer never watched boxing up to six months ago and is talking about coming to this fight live because I showed him tapes.

I think its a superfight, both are undefeated and are at their primes of their careers. Plus their's chance of the fight being exciting and competitive and the atmosphere their's going to be amazing. Plus the winner of the fight is probably going to have a chance at a few big money fights.

If you expect to sell out a 75,000 seat joint, you're in a superfight. Regardless of if you're super OR the fight will be super.

well the general american public have never really agreed that lennox
lewis was in a superfight. if holyfield had beaten him they would of
changed their mind no doubt. its just another case of "superfights"
have at least one american in it and if its europeans how the ****
can it be a superfight. well just because they dont have a name
in america doesnt mean their any less of a fighter, or will make any
less of a superfight. regardless of joe's so called weak opposition
he would give any american fighter one of their most difficult tests
and thats more than can be said for the majority of american
matchups that are made nowadays where light heavyweights
fighting welterweights make the biggest superfights.

It's a superfight, on the same level as the Lewis vs. Holyfield superfight - it's the best unification fight in years. Calzaghe and Kessler are easily the two best supermiddleweights with their amazing undefeated records.

Unlike most people, even though I'm a Calzaghe fan, I'm picking the younger Kessler to win a decision in a very tough fight. I think Calzaghe may be slightly past his prime.

In a way, it's kind of sad. I will hate to see either of these great fighters with a loss on their record. I hope it ends in a draw!

You have to realize, just because it's not big in America doesn't mean it's not big. The world, as a whole, is bigger than just America, don't be close-minded. Where they are holding this fight.. It's HUGE!

Of course, its a superfight depending on your own perception, but for those average joe american fans who buy the PPV'S and generate the real money on HBO and Showtime, you know they couldnt give a **** about this.

Personally i dont think can it be a superfight, its not even on PPV is it?, if it was a superfight, you know HBO would PPV it and make some money off of it.

If your a fan of these two guys i can see why you would think its a superfight, but for those who comapre this to lewis and Holyfield or Mayweather vs de la hoya, is just silly,

Mayweather vs De La Hoya was two Hall of Fame, guys who had been p4p number one at some stage, plus it was nearly a pick em fight.

Lewis tyson and Lewis Holyfield and Tyson Holyfield, was 3 all time greats fighting each other.

Calzaghe's resume is questionable to say the least and Kessler isnt anywhere near legendary status lmao, he hasnt even beaten anyoen that good anyways.

Thats part of the reason i think this is a big fight, not a superfight.

Is Chargev vs Ibragimov a superfight too?, those are two champions going head to head too, lol.
