    Is Kessler-Calzaghe a Superfight?

    When I think of superfights, I think of Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Hearns, Leonard-Duran, Hagler-Hearns, Hagler-Leonard, DLH-Trinidad, Tyson-Lewis, DLH-Mayweather, etc. I don't think Calzaghe-Kessler will ever be mentioned along these great, much anticipated fights.

Calzaghe is a protected fighter who has over 40 fights and 20 title defenses, yet has faced only one current world champion in his career. Many people have him P4P, even though he has one of the worst resumes of any current world champion.

Kessler holds two titles, but really has no big names on his resume. Seems like a solid fighter, but it's clear Calzaghe will be the toughest test of his career by far.

    Is this really a superfight?

Ofcourse it's not a super-fight. The Americans don't give a **** about this fight, and Kessler has never been on British TV

This is what i been trying to tell people, the above are super fights, i dont think we can put Calzaghe VS Kessler in that class.

      Big fight? Yes.

      Super fight? Not to me.

I think for calzaghe and kessler fans its a superfight, but for the rest of us im not sure.

You guys are fixated on the perception of boxing from the mainstream media. Half $iN's polls address that. Who gives a ****? Anyway I'm not sure you can count DLH-Floyd since DLH was a long shot and no one watches Floyd otherwise because he's a charmless prick.

It is a superfight, considering the circumstances.

                  DLH-Mayweather was a pick'em fight...

Kessler-Calzaghe may be a superfight in Britain, but not in the US. And if it was a superfight in the UK, I'm sure the ticket prices would be much, much higher like they are for real superfights.

Leonard made more money to fight Hearns 25 years ago than Calzaghe and Kessler are making combined. Even with inflation they still don't come close to what Leonard took home in the early 80's for a real superfight...

                    I agree to this.

Because im a Calzaghe fan and well into boxing, i consider this a superfight, but to the casual fan, atleast in my country, they just consider it another Calzaghe fight, I have to explain to all of my friends who the **** Kessler is. but to me there is noone better than Kessler for Calzaghe to face.
