I think you left the gas on and went to bed, there can be little other explaination for a comment like that.

Granted, that fight wasn't a superfight but that was because it was in the middle of a great heavyweight era, where the only superfights involved Evander Holyfield or Mike Tyson.

These days, we are lucky to get one superfight a year, given the current state of the sport I think this qualifies and we should all rejoice that it is actually made...but we should also hope that it comes off and no one gets hurt in training...
Toney vs. Jones was definitely considered a superfight and this is too. Just not on the same level as Jones vs. Toney. Remember, that was Jones' coming out party, but it was hyped big time. Sugar Ray Leonard was there to do commentary before the fight and ****.

RJJ fought nobodies his entire career and is a known cheat

Toney moved up divisions to avoid fighting the best fighters. He lost to some mediocre fighters in his supposed prime.

              they are both bums.

Good point. The winner will never be considered a superstar if they don't come to America in their next fight.

Yeah toney is a coward, he started at 160, fought A prime Roy Jones, Michal Nunn, beat a prime Vassily Jirov, went up to heavyweight and stopped holyfield then fought the most dangerous puncher in the divsion and (according to most) gave him a lesson in boxing.

But Calzaghe is great, he fought greats such as................ Eubank and.................no one else.

And moved up...............actually he has been at the same weight for about 10 years lol.

You cant talk about Joe in the same breath as Toney dude, ever. Calzaghe is a good fighter though.

                    Years of operation
Former fashion PR (Valentino), multi-lingual, Sorbonne educated, Peruvian firecracker, Carmen D'Alessio, was initially retained by former model, Uva Harden to promote the club. Funding arrangements fell through after the original backer, gallery owner Frank Lloyd lost a $9 million lawsuit to the artist Mark Rothko's estate. D'Allessio introduced nightclub owners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager to the project, who at the time were enjoying some success with their club The Enchanted Garden. D'Allessio, after working in Rome and around Europe as a fashion PR, was uniquely connected in the fashion, music and film scenes; and generally with the kind of "A" list jetsetters, movers and shakers, and celebrities, from across the United States, South America, Europe and other parts of the world. Harden was pushed out of the project, Rubell and Shrager gave D'Alessio much of the control for the design and promotion of the club.

At the opening D'Alessio sent out 5,000 invitations to her exclusive mailing list together with an enticing surprise gift to each of her invitees. Liz Smith, Cindy Adams and other New York gossip columnists announced to the world the coming of something big, and so Studio 54 the most notorious nightclub in history was born, with Bianca Jagger, Brooke Shields, Cher, Margaux Hemingway, Donald Trump and many other well known celebrities in attendance. Hordes scrambled to gain entry but only the lucky ones succeeded in gaining entry. Some celebrities including Mick Jagger and Frank Sinatra were unable to get in, in part due to Studio 54's elusive doorman Marc Benecke[2].

Shortly after the opening D'Alessio came up with the idea of hosting a birthday party for her friend Bianca Jagger. Bianca Jagger entered on a white horse and the resulting publicity firmly established Studio 54 as the preferred nightclub for New York celebrities including, Halston, Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Truman Capote, Elizabeth Taylor, Andy Warhol, and Lillian Carter, then-president Jimmy Carter's mother.

Studio 54 was operated by the flamboyant, publicly visible Rubell and his retiring silent partner Schrager. At the club's prime, Rubell became widely known for hand selecting guests from the always huge crowds outside, mixing beautiful "nobodies" with glamorous celebrities in the same venue.
