Is the HW Division a Joke?

How is it a joke?

One Aspect: You have one fighter that emerged way above the competition.. and because his wins looks so easy, it is clear how a novice can misinterpret the fight and call his opponents garbage.

Second Aspect: Like I said somewhere in a different thread, if it wasn't for all the new Eastern European faces, we'd still have Rahman, Byrd, Ruiz, Brewster rule the division and no one would complain that the division is ****.

The division is full of talent just because these guys are new to US and are unproven doesn't mean it's weak - Deal with it.


I'm certain these 4 guys could take on some of the great champions from the passed and win in entertaining matter.

What do either of them do as well as Wlad? Wlad has better handspeed, better two-fisted power, better natural athleticism, better punch technique, more variation on how he throws the punches (he jabed from 100 different angles yesterday). It's hard to accept a contemporary guy is better than the 'all time' greats, especially if that guy transcends the stereotype of a boxer, but in this case we have it.

I would never pay to see a HW fight from this era, live or payperview.

It's great that you're such a big boxingfan and do all you can to support the sport!
There is alot of intriguing match-ups out there in the HW division.
Young people, ****** people, ignorant people; They all fail to realize that it's nearly impossible to be dominant in any modern day sport, boxing included.
The opponent you face in the ring have trained most of his life, just like you have. He's seen as many videos of you as you have of him.

He's studied you for hours and hours, and is being trained by some of the best people in the sport, just so he can beat YOU.
He's learned from the all-time greats, just like you have. He's been trained in some of the most scientifically correct methods to become stronger, faster and better than you.
All his weaknesses is being addressed every single day by his trainers.
Each day he's watching you drop your left hand after jabbing, looking forward to the moment he can capitalize on it...

He might be fighting you just so he can afford to feed his children...
Maybe, just maybe, he hates you for being a threat to his children's wellbeing..
Don't tell me this sport is easy.
