As far as racism goes...most blacks are far more racist than whites. That's been proven over and over again, in studies, surveys, and everything else you can think of. It's just not PC, so it isn't well known.

Also, Werewolf (racist or not) is trying to make the point that blacks are responsible for more crime than whites. Again, racist or not, it's a valid point. The crime stats show a vastly disproportionate minority to white prison population in every state. Yes, it's because they've committed more crimes, not because of their skin color.

The division is weak, the weakest it's ever been. There's no point arguing it whether or not your boys are on top. You might say they aren't the weakest crop of champs ever but as a division it is the pits. There isn't a single great fighter in it.

No, Tyson had problems in his prime with guys who were mobile enough to get out of the way, like his fight with Quick Tillis, anyone who stood stiff trying to jab and stand striaght up, he would move his head and relentlessly attack. Even in the fight with Brewster this weekend, everytime brewster HINTED he was on the attack, Wlad backed up, Prime Tyson NEVER backed up, he kept coming and he wasnt going to stop until you were on that canvas. Wlad would be trying to fight backwards attempting to fend off tyson hooks and uppercuts and by round 4 or 5 woudl likely be out.

(keep in mind im talking about kevin rooney tyson, the one without the stamina problems/training problems when he was still moving his head and intelligently trying to get inside his opponents reach and bring the fight to them)

Werent guys like Ruiz, McCline, Oquendo, Golota, Rahman, Berrett (just lost to a journeyman tonight), Owen ****in Beck, and Domminik Guinn champions or contenders just a few years ago? Byrd was at one time known as the best champion, and his fights were boring. It got real ugly when Vitali retired. It has since gotten much better.

The ignorance is just pathetic. If you think that the division was better off with those guys then you just hate European fighters.

Those guys are still active. So are we not in their era? Or does a new era begin every time an alphabet belt changes hands?

It's hard to measure eras. But do any of you folks with ESPN Classic, who have seen Frazier, Norton, Ali, Foreman, etc. - really mean "best ever" in the voting? You guys would rather see Briggs fight Ibragimov/Liakhovich or Wlad struggle with TOS or Valuev vs. Ruiz? Really?

Who cares what the division is like?

The bottom line is that there is little American talent coming into the sport. Eventually the whole division will become Eastern European. It's an inevitable fact. An American might come a long, but thats it, singular. There are a ton of eastern euros lined up, plural. Anyway you try to swing it, the division will soon be majority Eastern Euro. There arent any American prospects coming. If there are, they are too young, and wont be here until a quarter past this decade.

Hence the division will loose the majority of American audience, whilst Klitschkos and co. will continue to sell out arenas in Germany, Russia and others once proper sports venues are built.

This is nothing about discrimination or racism. The fact is that, I dont give a **** about Major League Soccer, I love the sport, but I just cant stand watching MLS. So I can understand Americans loosing interest when there is no American representing the nation, to any sport, representation is a major factor and thats what gets people interested. Like my pinoy buddies who watch their country men fighting, but once someone else comes on they start talking about something else.

Hardcore boxing fans love the art of the sport, and dont care about all the other factors. But hardcore is 5% of the market. 95% of the money comes from the casual fan who likes drinking Budweiser infront of his oversized tely.

What am I leading to? THe fact that eventually americans will and are in the process of discrediting the current and future state of the division. Which is just a normal reaction.

Is the division a joke? As been said before, there have been times which you could say are on par, or even worse then what we have now. People just dont want to admit it, because its not Brooklyn and Detroit in the ring, its Kyiv and Abuja.

Saying that anyone from 60s and 70s would dominate the division is just silly. THe fighters are bigger, the fighters are stronger. They dont have the charisma or the character of the "Legends", they look more like soldiers and professionals who just come to work and win the fight.

Its like comparing formula 1. Everyone loved the glamour of the Fangio days, it was different, it was loose, not as organized and drivers smoked cigars whilst racing and never worked out a day in their life. Today it's a multi million dollar sports that runs more efficiently then a clinic, and the drivers have personal fitness trainers. But old timers still claim that the drivers of the old would rule today, for **** knows what reason....Maybe because their stories became legends over the years, and todays stories are nothing but news.



So ask yourself again. If its a joke, then this joke is here to stay for a long time. So you either live with it, or leave it alone, bitching wont bring Ali back, and it wont bring Big George back, or the small heavy in todays terms.

The HW division still isn't that fun for me to watch compared to most other divisions (112 and up, for the most part), but some of these guys are, at least to me, playing a character in the forums; it'd be interesting if these conversations would be the same if we were sitting in a sports bar, in person...
