On the face of it Lyakhovich would appear to be a great opponent for Povetkin, as long as you believe that he is ready for big time boxing. Personally I don't think Povetkin is ever going to be any more ready than he is now. On the other hand I can't imagine why Lyakhovich's manager would accept this fight. Nothing to win and everything to lose.
Povetkin's next fight may be in the US

That name's been quiet for the past year, but I agree. He's raw though. he could have forty fights before we see him in with the competition Povetkin will be looking at soon.Comment

Whoever it is, I hope Povetkin kicks buttToday the Russian news media is reporting that Povetkin's next fight will be in the USA.
The reports state it may be on the undercard of Pavlik vs. Taylor or Maskaev vs. Peter, and so be televised by HBO. They also speculate that the opponent may be Lyakhovich or a young American heavyweight prospect.

That's the first not half bad post I've seen you make, Satori555. At least you respect how Sasha fights.Comment

Povetkin-Lyakhovich is a main event - no way that fight would be on an undercard.
Also think Povetkin would have atleast another 2 or 3 bouts before facing a prime solid name like Lyakhovich.
If he's on the Taylor bout it will be a showcase fight against a solid journeyman.Comment
