This fights has to be in Vegas.

In sentiment I agree with you, Funk. Yanks oughta stop being such narrow homers, and should fight (or do anything) outside the country sometimes. But this is about money.

What it's not about it judging. Too many Euros have gotten gyped on our spoil for any self-respecting indiviidual to ever use this excuse.

and a football stadium is much bigger then a boxing stadium which is closer to the crowd.

Liverpool stadium had many cases of volience in the 80s like the match against Juventus where fans broke the wall and crushed the juventus fans another case which is recent is Liverpool fans in Greece against Milan fans which is a clear indication that football hooligains isnt over.

I main reason not to fight is for saftly issue and secruity Mayweather is hated in his hometown too so what do you think is going to happen if he is fighting against countries fav in his hometown manchester

It has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with comfort. I can't see Mayweather accepting any kind of offer to fight in the UK, but an offer has been made with actually money by Hatton's camp so negotiations are beginning. That's a good thing, no?

Also $10 mil as a guarantee is as much as Mayweather was guaranteed for the De La Hoya fight, so there's no way to argue that it isn't enough money.

This story did inspire the thread but it was intended more as a general point.

TBH, I wasn't expecting the offer to be made for the fight in England after the work that Hatton's been doing over there. It doesn't mean it shouldn't be an option though, and they've laid down the kind of money it would generate over here. At least Floyd knows what he has to match or beat to keep face and get the fight staged in the US.

It's a start at least, and a hell of alot more encouraging than the last 2 years of bull****.

I'm not sure Hatton's team can guaruntee that money without the UK gate, because there Hatton and PBF are not proven PPV draws alone.

I dont know why i'm so hyped for this fight, Floyd is too big and fast at any weight for hatton, and it would be rough to see Floyd win again.

your a Manchester City fan would you travel to Turky and make a mistake sitting in Galtasay field instead of the away field? but there in football is forced to do it.

The most hooligan in football are Turkish, English and Argintiene some European sometimes have it like Holland and Italy and abit of Spain and Germany

Firstly Manchester City have not had any business in Europe for some time... It's not my fault that the team I support is ****! Secondly Floyd wouldn't be sitting with any supporters at all. I would play Galatasaray if I were a City player with few concerns for my safety. Floyd is not a fan, he's a player. Thirdly there has been very little trouble in the English top flight in the last 20 years. I haven't seen so much as a coin thrown in anger since 1985 at any top flight games and the police presence is insane at the games nowadays. The lower league still sees some trouble but no major event at either Wembley or the City of Manchester Stadium would be as small as that. Finally boxing hooliganism is a total non-issue.
