I prefer the fact that he is one of the most effective swarming in-fighters currently in the world of boxing.

I think Lederman basically did half of the analysis. he notes correctly Hatton throwing 2 or 3 hooks then getting very close to Castillo, pushing his weight against him, as Steward also previously noted. However, he then left it at that taking the halfassed view that Hatton was simply holding castillo. Actually Castillo was uncomfortable being pushed around and clinched as well since he's used to doing the pushing himself. Thats why Hatton was actively working to get out of the clinches with hooks to the body and head.

So yes, Hatton swarms/smothers opponents, but hit and hold is a gross simplification on Lederman's part IMO.

Thats hilarious coming from someone who refuses to give a 43 fight undefeated two weight multi-champ any credit for always winning and never losing.

I don't think I've ever seen any boxing analysis from some of the guys on this thread - they spend their lives writing one line replies that suggest they either are still in education with some way to go, or they spurned opportunities to improve themselves and are now a bunch of frustrated peons.

you never address the fact that hattons whole style is based on illegal clinching, you just say everyone does it which they dont or thats good infighting which it isnt so why dont you just apologize and say i like a cheater and i dont care about it

Why has he never been disqualified then? Why does he rarely ever even lose points?

Bending the rules and getting the win from it is the mark of a pretty clever guy as far as I'm concerned. Many great boxers over the years have done exactly the same.

Is Satori555 an alt for $iN? Same repeated hateful posts against Hatton, same hate on his avatar...

People who hate Ricky Hatton are the most pathetic losers on earth. It amazes me that some people spend so much time hating on certain boxers. Fighters like Hatton who go in the ring and take hard punches from their opponents are the most courageous people in sports! The people who hate them are cowardly slimebags who wouldn't have the balls to fight in a ring.

i just watched the 1st round again, and i counted hatton clinching at least 15 times. cortez should have taken points away but instead he took 1 away for a boarder line punch from castillo.
