sad to say he was shot, but hatton did exactly what you should do if you have a guy in front of you that you can take out, take him out! and hatton did. but as said before castillo was shot, this fight was to actually really see if he was shot or if he had some fight in him still.

he's had a rough career. i think anymore fighting castillo will start to be an opponent for contenders and prospects. and the sad thing is it looks like he's going to have to fight to make some cash. that or he should start training. i wonder what castillo is thinking about right now about his future and financial whoa's. i dunno, i'd like to see castillo retire before he gets hurt.

i give props to hatton for getting his opponent out of there in a decisive fashion. that is what a champ is supposed to do, get the other guy out asap, not carry the fight letting it go a full 12rds of a lopsided fight. if you can't knock him out, make him quit, or make the ref stop it, or make his corner throw in the towel, just execute and get it over, and that's what hatton did and i respect that, it's good boxing and the right attitude to fighting. plus it gives the fans something worth their/our buck............

now lets get hatton in the ring with someone else in the thick of their prime as well, clash of the titans type ****. any top name in or around his weight would be an exciting fight.

Why do people keep saying he was shot because of hard fights like against Corrales. He was doing fine against Corralles and when he was stopped against Corralles the ref stopped it very fast and Castillo didnt suffer.
This fight puts PBF into perspective for me and his career as a whole. I dont see any reason why PBF shouldnt be in the gym training for Hatton now.

I predicted Hatton would beat Castillo on points but i did really think Hatton would stop him. But i was just being on the safe side.
SIN we all gets things wrong dont we? You thought Castillo would decision Hatton. Will you forgive the people who thought DLH might beat PBF now?

How about Hatton was just too strong for Castillo and delivered a great shot?

The fight was ended by an almost unrecoverable liver shot, Castillo is one of the most experienced fighters around, he's strong, he's durable and he is in desperate need for cash, therefore he was in there to win and lost simply because he was knocked out?

You get hit in that area with a hard and well delivered shot and its over, there is now way of developing that area of your body to protect against it.
It is a rare way to KO someone because most boxers don't throw shots into that area in the way Hatton does and due to the natural fall of the elbows the area is usually protected.

This fight had nothing to do with who was shot or not!
hatton vs collazo, and hatton vs urango...thats why they say zsu and castillo were shot. not only that, but its pretty obvious. i mean castillo use to have smart hands with decent speed, tonight he was straight ass. he was out classed in every aspect. wasnt even able to hold his composure after that body shot. it was awkward to see castillo just give up....but it's his end, and hattons future now.

i mean, collazo did some great work against hatton with his mediocre skill and speed. urango was just tough and held it out, so i think hattons flaws are obvious. anyone with a hint of speed, reach, and durability will give him problems.

so before he gets too gassed on himself, i think for his own sake, his next fight should be with zab judah, just to get his feet wet with a strong fast handed fighter. than he should officially move onto mayweather.

of course he was a shot fighter. anyone who didnt see that coming into this fight was blind. he had been in tooo many wars, looked ****ty in his last fight, and had all the makings for getting beat up badly against the much fresher fighter. we've seen this happen so many times before you would think that this wouldn't be surprising to anyone. i predicted this to be castillo's last fight and actually expected him to get beat up worse, and getting TKO'd in the 5th.

castillo is a warrior and was a very good fighter. but he was done before this fight even happened.

Why was he in wars? Perhaps he was never that good, but PBF got great credit for beating him didnt he? ANd maybe people was overating Castillo just because he beat PBF in manys eyes. Maybe PBF aint all that good really? All ifs and maybes isnt it.
So why didnt PBF stop DLH? You predicted Hatton would win, so Hatton must be pretty good in your eyes. Why predict Hatton to win when Hatton has looked **** in his last fights as well? Face it Castillo was in great shape for this fight but just couldnt take what Hatton had to give him! And the outcome would have been the same whenever the fight happened. Castillo has never been on the floor because of his chin. But he hadnt faced a body puncher of Hattons calibre.

no, castillo was good, im not taking that away from him. what im saying is a boxer can only take so many wars before they start to look old (see fernando vargas, etc). castillo to me had that same blank look in his eye that i saw scott pemberton have before the manfredo fight. hatton may have not looked that great in his last fights but there was no denying that he was the fresher and younger fighter, he'd been in far less wars then castillo.

i'm not saying this in hindsight, i was saying this when the fight was first announced

the point of my post isn't to take away from hatton, i think hes a good fighter. the point is - the outcome was not surprising to me because i feel castillo was a shell of himself at this point.
