For the low cost of only 54.99

But no one fight can save boxing. Boxing will never die.

I will always hold that against Richard Steele. I really wish that Taylor at least had that win so that he could look back on that fight without feeling cheated.
Get over yourself mate, Richard Steele wasn't the ****in timekeeper! If Taylor wasn't responding then Steele had a job to do... In effect it was a case of damned if he didn't and damned if he did!

            I detest that fight.

            And I like dogs.
How come almost every time there is a thread or post regarding Gerald McClellan someone mentions the stories about dogs? Why not just discuss what he achieved in his boxing career? IMO he certainly doesn't deserve to be in the state that he is in now, and it is indeed sad to see him that way.

Personally, i still refuse to watch the Ali - Holmes, Ali - Berbick fights again, and although Eubank landed possibly one of the best uppercuts i have ever seen in a great rematch with Michael Watson, it was so sad to see a great man like Watson go through what he did.

Most could have forseen the way Tyson ended up, but i think it is a lot sadder to watch his fights against Lewis, Williams, and McBride than it is to watch the fight against Douglas, as at least he was a lot more competetive in the Douglas fight.

The damage was already ****ing done Chavez wouldn't have been able to get over there from the nuetral corner with like less than 5 seconds left. Since the damage was already done why rob Taylor of his crowning achievement for all that damage that he took and gave out. Looking at him now he took all that damage for nothing because of a dumb ass ref not being aware of whats going on.

The referee is there to protect a fighter when he can! The referee is not a timekeeper. Taylor was not responding to Steele. Some will say that this is because he was paying more attention to Lou Duva who was up in arms at ringside... Okay, fair point, but can you blame Richard Steele for that? If Taylor had his faculties he would have realised he needed to respond to Richard Steele... He didn't and Steele can't be sure if he is making the right decision by letting the fight continue, as only the timekeeper could be certain whether or not Chavez would have time to inflict further damage.

Richard Steele was in a really awkward position as had he let the fight continue he may well have been criticised, and of course, he has been lambasted for stopping the fight.

That's kind of my disclaimer, or pre-written response.

It seems like at least half of the time he's brought up, someone says "well he was scum for what he did, etc..."

Yes, Steele is to blame and is known for being on the take. He saw the red light in the corner stating theres less than 10 seconds left. Steele ****ed up Taylors life...period. How can you, as a boxing fan, sit there and defend Steele? You should be ashamed of yourself. I mean whos side are you on mate?

                      My Top 10 Saddest Moments:
                      1. All boxing-related deaths in general and the Griffith-Paret tragedy in particular. The image of Benny "Kid" Paret pinned against the ropes and being pummeled into submission by Emile Griffith will forever stick in my mind.
                      2. Mike Tyson having Evander Holyfield's ear for dinner.
                      3. Every time I see or hear what's left of Muhammad Ali as a result of his career.
                      4. Every time I see or hear what's left of Taylor as a result of Chavez-Taylor.
                      5. Larry Holmes battering the "ghost" of Muhammad Ali.
                      6. A way-over-the-hill Joe Lewis being destroyed by Rocky Marciano.
                      7. The start of Mike Tyson's fall from grace at the hands of Buster Douglas. Although Tyson avenged that loss, he was never quite the same...
                      8. Ali toying with and finally desposing of the way-past-his-prime legend of Archie Moore.
                      9. Roberto Duran's "no mas" abrupt exit from Leonard-Duran II, which benchmarked his fall from grace.
                      10. Ali's exile from boxing as a result of his refusal to be inducted into the armed services.
