Sorry for bringing this thread back up, but i haven't been on here for a while and i felt i should respond to this post... McNulty, don't be an absolute p*ick! Why should i be ashamed of myself? It's not about taking sides, it's about giving my honest opinion. Regardless of there being 10 seconds left, if a referee feels that a fighter is unfit to continue, then he has a right to make a decision... The fight wasn't over and Steele had a decision to make. To claim that Steele ****ed up Taylor's life is absurd! Great fighters get beaten and come back mate.

Did steele see the flashing light? Has he said one way or another, if he did he knows there's 10 seconds left, how was he to know there wasn't anymore time for Chavez to land any more punches, who's to say Chavez wouldn't have heard the bell if it had gone on and landed a few more blows on Taylor which could have been fatal. I believe he didn't see the light as he was solely concentrating on Taylor and rightly so, but whether he did or not is irrelevent he was correct in stopping the fight. Yes it is a big shame that Taylor was denied victory in the biggest fight of his life, but Steele isn't to blame. Christ sake what was Lou Duva saying in the corner, you need this round, the fight all depends on this last round, he should have said make sure you stay out of his way, and don't get involved just outbox him and use your skill. Even in Duva thought the fight was close surely he could see that Taylor didn't need to get involved in a brawl and just needed to box his way to the bell.

You're spot on. I can't believe how much Steele is criticised over the Chavez - Taylor fight... The facts are clear as far as i'm concerned.

-Ali-Holmes...Just the entire fight, the whole situation.

-Ali's current state...One of the greatest champions of all time, see him dancing around the ring, now he can barely walk.

-Tyson-Douglas...Beginning of the end for Tyson. Tyson scrambling for his mouthpiece makes you feel for the guy.

Ouma's entire life is pretty heartbreaking, it makes me put a lot of things into perspective and to not take things for granted.

Yes the first fight was close, and Watson was winning the second on points, but cheated he was not... Eubank landed a great shot with terrible consequences.

Saddest moment in boxing - McGuigan walking out of his corner against Steve Cruz, a 23 year old Mexican plumber in the middle of the Nevada desert, round 13, 1985. McGuigan said "Pray for me" as he left his stool to head into the 14th.

Second saddest moment in boxing- Tyson getting it kicked by James Douglas. The start of the end.

Probabaly even sadder than Barry - Diego dying....
