But when it comes to the skills front and understanding the purpose of MMA, I'm still going to stand strong on that area.

Boxers sound more like McDojo students when they try to degrade MMA. It makes them look like fools and with that the sports media follows suit instead of standing back and trying to look at it with a clear perspective.

For some reason, people in Boxing can't handle the fact while what they do in their sport is good, it's just a facet of some larger picture. I don't understand why that is.

I understand your point. I think MMA is a legitimate sport and both should be respected. But the thing is you have 2 combat sports and one is trying to outshine the other. Boxing was here longer in terms of being known as a legitimate sport. We have adopted a love of the art of 2 men facing each other with only their fists as weapons. We love the sport and when it's being attacked constantly by another sport or promoter, fans will defend it till the end

The UFC will NEVER pay top dollar for a boxier to fight on one of their events. You want to hear never, I said NEVER. The minute they flash money like that, all of the guys they pimp to work their shows for 3-7K a pop, while they make 40-million of the cards, will demand more money and even the guys at the top like Rampage will ask for a much fatter check.

It must kill some of those guys to see a boxing B level fighter making more money than a UFC main eventer, and a boxing main eventer making more than the entire UFC pay-per-view roster.
bobby pacquiao who is not even ranked got paid $135,000! thats more then sean sherk and rich franklin.

jorge solis got paid $500,000 for his fight with manny pacquiao lol i never even heard of him before.

this will be the downfall of MMA the ufc monopoly and the greed and slave wages for guys sacrificing there body and getting paid 300 bucks out of a 2 thosuand dollar check they split 6 ways.

the smart man would rather risk it in boxing then ufc.

I agree. Both sports will have it's die hards. All that is asked is that if any opinions are made on either sport, let them be informed ones. Do homework before stating an opinion.

Also keep in mind that MMA is going to be trying to gun down Boxing to at least gain a bit of honest legitamacy. A lot of martial artists see this as a real positive and viable option for them and they're going to try to keep it afloat as much as possible. There are not many avenues for their sport to go. Especially for grapplers. So when you got Boxers giving uninformed opinions about how their skillset is nothing or less then what they do, you're really stoking a burning fire that has been burning a long time and it's forcing these people to try harder and harder to show them up.

if an MMA fighter takes a boxer to the ground, what do you think the boxer's gonna do?

                not a goddamn thing.

Dana wont sign a guy like Cintron cuz he knows he'll expose UFC for the crap it is and stock will plummet. The dudes got hands and can wrestle [real hands mind you]. But Dana will crow all day about PBF who has no ground skills.

If ya'll nuthuggers cant see any logic in that, ya'll are on some blind shat.

No. It was more of a name issue then a skill issue.

You guys might know everything about Kermit, but go out into the street and ask five people who Kermit Cintron is. Then ask them who Floyd Mayweather is.

That's what Dana was going for.

cintron wants to get in the ring with sean sherk. cintron is 6'1" 147lbs. sean sherk is 5'6" 155lbs.

for cintron to challenge sherk of all people, thats just ****ing weak.
