You didn't know about this fight? Whitaker clearly outpointed him and they called it a draw. Much like Holyfield-Lewis I, this ranks as one of the biggest screwjobs in boxing history.

I still atest that Rabah vs. Urango is the biggest screwjob ever considering Rabah won 9 rounds MINIMUM and they gave it to Urango. Not a draw, but the complete opposite of who should have won. That's worse than giving a guy who won a draw.

which proves how young most of our posters are. just little kids who want to see a bloody fist fight, not a boxing match. you can't appreciate Whitaker and bash Mayweather because they are the same fighter. except Mayweather is even better.

i just watched that fight the other day, being a big jcc fan i'd have to say it was almost a draw, but sweetpea won it. i don't know where everyone is getting this ( sweetpea beat chavez hands down ) from, cause both fighters were hitting hard, but that's just my opinion.

i would'nt say they are the same at all. whitaker would stand toe to toe and war, he did for most of his fights( i would know cause i have his carreer boxing set on dvd ) but while standing toe to toe he would be ducking, dodging and dancing. mayweather half runs half dances. i liked that fight chavez vs whitaker. in the face of all us mexicans, he stood there proud as the american anthem played.

I have only seen the fight in qiestion once and that was roughly 4 or 5 years ago but it was pretty clear to me that Pernell won. He did not win by much in my book(although if I watch it now, my opinion may change) but he outscored JCC pretty clearly. I would not say that this was the worst decision I ever saw, but it was rather bad.

I think about this time Chavez was going down hill after this fight he fought Randall which led him to his first lost
People say that, but whitaker and chavez werent too far apart in age, nor were they far apart in when they started their career, when chavez was killing cab drivers, whitaker was at the olympics basically. They were evenly matched, Chavez by all means still had alot of fight left in him, but so did whitaker.

                      Whitaker kept "running"? Right....
