It's pretty simple - if Floyd wants to move up to superstar level he needs to have the belief and heart to put himself in danger and make exciting fights. SRL is my favourite fighter but I wouldn't swap the 2nd and 3rd Duran fights for the 1st. He lost but he made it a great, great fight.
Floyd Mayweather already is a superstar, whether you want to admit it or not. How many other fighters would get paid $8 million to fight guys like Baldomir and Margarito? How many other fighters have gotten 2.15 million buys for a fight with DLH?

If you want to watch two guys slugging out, there are plenty of other fighters who provide that. Why should Mayweather give up his advantages in speed and skill? It should be on the other fighter to force him to fight that kind of fight...

Nyahahahahaha. Naz was selling higher ppv numbers in a country a 5th the size of the US than Floyd can manage without DLH.

Hatton v Urango had 1.3m US viewers in his 2nd fight in the US (since he made it on the world stage).

          Floyd's no superstar, you comedian.

He has everything in place to step up to the next level and capture the casual fan base - the networks, PR, his standing with the avid boxing fans. It's totally down to him.
Aaron Pryor was and he wasn't paid and doesn't have the fame. Your favorite fighter Sugar Ray Leonard didn't fight Aaron Pryor because he felt he would beat the **** out of Aaron Pryor but yet you harshly critizie PBF for thinking that way about some of the people you think would give him a challenge. Why is it OK for Sugar Ray Leonard to feel that way and say **** like that but not OK PBF?

Hatton's fame doesnt even compare with mayweather's, thats the reason why mayweather vs de la hoya did the highest PPV sales of all time if i am correct?

And yes de la hoya was a huge factor in that, but so was floyd, otherwise mayorga dlh would have done similar numbers.

Honestly, if Floyd does not produce some sort of drama or a scandal outside the ring his chances to gather good PPV numbers are close to dim.
Regular people rarely appreciate cute footwork, smilies and one punch at a time tactic.

Thus, he behaves like a total ****, simply to stirr **** up to uphold an interst in him.
He is sort of America's version of Eubank(and prime Eu was hated by the british public) popularity wise, in that that he have to be the bad guy to keep hisself in a spotlight.

Mark my words, if Floyd ever loses but shows heart and valiant effort in the loss, he will become America's new superhero.

Naz was a superstar, no doubt...

Bringing up Hatton-Urango is a joke, right? How do you compare something that was shown on HBO to a PPV?

There's a reason every fighter calls out Mayweather. It's not because they think they can beat him. It's because he's the biggest draw not named Oscar...

Take a look down SRL's resume and come back to me. He more than made up for not fighting Pryor.

And no, Pryor wasn't given the same opportunity as Floyd. I don't ever recall him ever being funded and marketed to death like Floyd has been.

How does he not show heart by boxing people who outweigh him by 20 lbs? Why is not considered smart that he uses his advantages against bigger people instead him being boring. Why isn't the job of the bigger man to catch PBF and KO him instead of PBF pressing the issue against the bigger man giving away his advantages and making it easier for the bigger man. You mother****ers don't critize David for slaying Goliath with a sling shot? He stayed out of Goliath's range and used his advantage of a sling shot and won the fight.
