He's only boring when he is making your favorite fighter look like an amateur

Like I said that **** don't always equal more money.

But look at this way does it make sense for a power running football team to switch to the run n shoot offense in the super bowl?
Boxing has gotten him to 38-0, P4P #1 in many peoples eyes, first ballot hall of fame, and many look at him as the best of his era.
Why in **** should he change?
That's entirely his choice to make, but he shouldn't ***** about the consequences of that choice.

Pretty much, yes. Fights like Leonard v Duran and Hearns should answer your questions for you. Bigger risks = bigger rewards, it's the way of things.

What rings true for some doesn't for all. Some people make exciting fights and get paid very well for it and some don't so what you are saying isn't completely true.
So what about Aaron Pryor he made exciting fights but doesn't have the money or the fame of the three you mentioned. That **** just isn't true for all fighters plain and simple.

You're going off on a tangent.

It's pretty simple - if Floyd wants to move up to superstar level he needs to have the belief and heart to put himself in danger and make exciting fights. SRL is my favourite fighter but I wouldn't swap the 2nd and 3rd Duran fights for the 1st. He lost but he made it a great, great fight.

mayweather is like jordan's fade-away, rather than his dunk
got to be a fan of the sport to fully get it

How am I going off on a tanget you said if PBF put on more exciting fights he would have more fans and money. You also said look at Leonard, Duran and Hearns fights. Are you saying that if all fighters who reach a certain level in the sport if they put on exciting fights they will make more money and have more fans?
All I am saying is that is not true PBF switching his style may turn some of his fans off and I am also say that putting on exciting fights doesn't get all fighters more money and fans because if that was the case more people would know who Aaron Pryor is because he always put on exciting fights but he doesn't have the money or the fame of Leonard Duran or Hearns. You can't dispute that.

If you like to appriciate boxing in its purest form, then floyd mayweather is the fighter.

If you like bad defence and needless blood letting for the sake of entertainment then dont watch him fight.

Its very hypocritcal that some people on here say MMA has no skill and its just two men fighting like animals,

Yet when a man comes along and is the embodiment of pure boxing skill, he gets criticised for not being the reckless animal they claim makes MMA lower than boxing.

                    Doesnt make sense.

Not every exciting fighter is given the opportunity to become a huge name.

It's not even about him totally switching his style, it's about him spending more time in range, more time engaging and probably tweaking his public persona.

He has everything in place to step up to the next level and capture the casual fan base - the networks, PR, his standing with the avid boxing fans. It's totally down to him.
