Boxing is about winning a FIGHT, not being the best at staying outside and landing enough fast, feather-fisted punches to win rounds and look pretty.

And if enough fighters start acting like that, it won't be about making big money for much longer, either. Fans want fights. And everybody needs to realize that it's the casual fan, who isn't interested in pretty displays, who pays the vast majority of the bills. If they're lost to MMA, pro wrestling (GAK!) or other such ****** ****, boxing would be reduced to something like volleyball. Notice how almost no colleges have a boxing program anymore? Bad things coming, if the sport doesn't get it's **** together.

The fact is no one can beat Mayweather. If you don't like his fighting style or think his fights are boring, then don't watch. Go watch an Arturo Gatti fight or something. Just remember that when all these sluggers step up to Mayweather, they get embarassed...

You apparently have an ides of boxing as being a chess match and nothing else. And while there is a good deal of strategy and timing, there also has to be the force behind the strategy and timing.

Look at it this way: If you put two fighters in the ring, equal in conditioning, talent, speed, skill and ability, but one has quite a bit more power than the other. Who wins? The guy with the bigger ****, of course.

And Gatti has never been a boxer, why did it surprise anyone that Mayweather was able to do whatever he wanted to him? Just another joke opponent in Mayweather's resume. If he's so ****ing good, why didn't he do the same thing to Oscar that he did to Gatti? Because he was afraid to, that's why.

When you're an elite boxer like DLH and you're getting tagged at will by lead right hands, lead left hooks, and the fighter in front of you cracks a smile when you hit him, I think that's pretty embarassing...

Yes, all things being equal. But obviously things are not equal when Mayweather is concerned. He makes up for lack of power in the higher weight classes with better conditioning, speed, talent, and skill. Mayweather at 130 and 135 not only had these superiorities, but he also had enough power to KO most fighters...

No one said Gatti was good. No one even expected Gatti to win. DLH was a pick'em fight. He didn't do the same thing to DLH because he couldn't. Oscar was too big and too skilled to get completely dominated like that. You comparing DLH to Gatti is a joke and shows you know absolutely nothing about this sport...
