EliteSoldier did watch the fight, Gunstar...several of us got it on sopcast. Our conversations about finding it are on another thread, EliteSoldier was one of the first of us to figure out how to get it to work. Mind you, a larger screen would have been better, but the PPV wasn't offered here in Canada.
Cotto deserved the win. He has greater strength and stamina, and is able to be more persistantly aggressive and so gradually wears down his opponent. Zab is a skillful fighter but he takes breaks and seemed to slow down in the last few rounds. The ref made the right decision, Zab could have been hurt if the fight was allowed to continue. He would have needed to win by KO because he was so far behind, but he was obviously in no condition to KO Cotto at that point. Cotto had won every round except for the first, so there was no doubt about the result if it had gone to the scorecards.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 06-10-2007, 12:46 AM.Comment

Please wake the **** up, you sound like a damn *******. This was a very good stoppage, he didn't want anymore, he didn't fight the stoppage AT ALL. This is how fighters get hurt, the ref did a great job, zab was done and anybody that is a boxing fan knows this.Comment

as much as i dislike zab judah, i don't want to see him get seriously hurt, and at that point he could've because at that point cotto had him and cotto wasn't going all out, he was being patient ripping huge shots and putting them in combo's. judah would've taken huge punishment. plus he had already taken a knee, he was already beaten and busted, that has to be taken into consideration too, coupled with his health.Comment

good stoppage. he was barely able to defend himself and was taking heavy shots to both body and head. if the fight had continued, zab would have been properly KOd and taken more damage.
the only people who think this was a bad stoppage must either hate zab and wanted him to get more hurt, or are just blood-lust freaks who should be watching UFC or somethin.Comment

I was rooting for Cotto and I still think it was a bit premature. Possibly 30seconds premature. Zab wasn't answering back but he was atleast moving a little.
However to be fair to the referee if the fight was closer and if Zab wasn't getting such a beating the last few rounds I think the referee would've gave him more time.
The stoppage was premature but merciful.Comment
