I've been bashing Taylor a little over his latest fights, but on this one I'm going with JT. He wil be on a mission and I think he'll be amped to show all the doubters why he's the champ. All my points on JT if this fight happens. This may be a FOTY candidate. Pavlik will make him trade punches and that JT will be willing to do if he's pressed. Taylor will be the last man standing.

This fight reminds me of the old school fights when you really couldn't tell who was going to win before the fight actually happened. This is one I can't call, because Taylor beat Hopkins twice so he obviously has the skill, but he doesn't appear to be a polished fighter.

This fight might not require polish. It might come down to whose got the heart to trade bombs.

if pavlik fights taylor like he fought miranda he'll beat taylor. taylor can't fight backing up, just like miranda. i think pavlik is more focused and is more of a student of the game than taylor and i think guys that study boxing and it's history and the actual science of strategy have an edge over guy who don't. i can't say for sure about taylor but i haven't really heard about taylor being a real student of the sport, taylor only fights from what i know (not only but you know what i mean), but then again i don't know him personally to say if that is factual or not, but what i do know is that i've never heard anything about taylor studying tape and doing homework, etc. about fighters and the history of the sport.

where as pavlik does, kelly and his team also put together good fight plans. it's a good fight, a fight that both guys can win if they come with the right attitude and focus.

pavlik has a lot on his plate and it's a big bite to chew, i say that he should have one or two more fights before fighting taylor so he can get a better grasp of things on the big stage. but it's also a sink or swim kind of thing. i always thought that it would've been a good idea to go after sturms belt before fighting taylor, it would give pavlik another chance to get his name out there more, it would be good experience, and he would be bringing another belt into play for a unification fight.( if he were to win, i think he can beat sturm, that too would be a good fight)

taylor needs something big because after his last few fights, especially his last one, i don't think that he's going to be getting close decisions as easily as before. if taylor actually follows what manny has to say, he could be a lot more effective in the ring, but ignoring a hall of fame trainer who has and had multiple world champions is crazy or they just aren't working out together, who knows. but taylor needs something big because he's slowly losing his shininess as a boxing star................

i think pavlik can do it, but the reality of things, it's a pick'em fight........

I really hope Kelly Pavlik fights smart and beats Taylor. I don't like Taylor anymore.

Hands down Pavlik wins this fight! Taylor will get to know the taste of canvas.
(So go practice falling down)I dont see Taylor pulling it off or lasting 12rds. Then maybe we can see the real technicians go to work. Pavlik, Wright, Calzaghe, Kessler. anyone of these guys can beat Taylor, And as far as Im concerned Wright already did.
