Calzaghe accepts offer to fight Kessler

The fact that the fight is the same distance from some place in the US to another place in the US isn`t the point.
The point is that the crowd, staff and just about everyone Joe encounters in Denmark will be rooting for Kessler, that is an advantage.
The distance in terms of miles from point to point isn`t the issue.

quit changing the subject and quickly go and watch the last part of Reid vs Calzaghe that you haven`t seen.
Who's the ref???
BTW after seeing your score, you either not seen the fight or you're clearly biased. :wank:

It's kind of crazy that Warren actually is all right with Joe going to Denmark, but now it's up to Palle if the deal was legit or not. For boxing fans lets hope so.

I dont think there is a fight out there that can garner Calzaghe more "legacy fame" then this fight.
Beating Hopkins would only give the Calzaghe haters the "he was way too old" card too play.
Beating Taylor is a forgone conclusion even by the most passionate Calzaghe haters.
Beating Kessler in Wales is huge.
Beating Kessler in Denmark will ensure that no one in the enitre world of boxing can ever question Joe Calzaghe again...ever.

I believe that Hopkins was P4P top 10 for pretty much ALL of those 7 years. Taylor on the other hand shot into the P4P top 10 with his victory over Bernard Hopkins 2 years ago (which immediately catapulted him to Ring Magazine's P4P number 1). I think that its a fair enough general statement to say that between them they've been on for the best part of the last 7 years.
LOL.
WHEN WAS TAYLOR POUND FOR POUND NUMBER ONE?

I thought running, ducking wasnt fighting,
Infact, dont answer that with more clever wording, lets stick to the sweet science.
Exactly my point, a old chris eubank would be a force in SM divsion, because its probably the worst divison in boxing right now, at least the heayweights have Wlad, James toney and Sam Peter lol.
Originally posted by Miksterious View PostMaybe I'm not as cynical as you, but I dont believe that the plight of your division should necessarily take away from your accomplishments. Tszyu never moved up, but I think that he was a great fighter. The Heavyweight division wasnt great while Lewis was fighting there...but he was a great boxer..
Btw, you may know, im not that hyped on lennox lewis, but at least he had more than ONE carrer defining fight.
Originally posted by Miksterious View PostAgain, you are electing to disregard somethings. For example, Lacy WAS a career defining fight. Kessler WILL be a career defining fight. The winner of Hopkins and Wright WILL be a career defining fight. Taylor WOULD be a career defining fight. Thats 4. Furthermore, yes De La Hoya had more...but he ****ing lost most of them. Calzaghe winning his 4 would be more impressive to me. Yes Sugar Ray Leonard had more...but then he ******ly went on and fought too long, retiring undefeated would've been a lot more impressive (again, I must stress that I AM NOT claiming that Calzaghe ought to be ranked higher in the all-time list than De La Hoya or Ray Leonard if he accomplishes that I am talking about). As for Mayweather...really? How many career-defining fights do you think he has had?
Who the hell has Kessler beat to be consider a carrer defining fight? dont ever compare that fight with how many carrer defining fights Floyd mayweather has had, ive mentioned four above, all those guys were better than anyone JC has ever fought, Other than eubank.
How can beating kessler define his carrer? all it proves is that joe is the best at 168, we already know that.
Originally posted by Miksterious View Posthowever if Calzaghe takes Kessler, Wright/Hopkins and Taylor, it could certainly be argued that he faced better top fighters than Mayweather did.
De La Hoya> Hopkins (no way is hopkins a better fighter than de la hoya, anyhow these two had fought at a fairer weight class, would have been a totally different story.
Judah>Kessler, i think we can all agree Judah is on a another level to kessler as a fighter.
Lacy? Lol, Castillo>LacyLast edited by Technical_Skill; 06-01-2007, 11:22 AM.
