I dont think there is a fight out there that can garner Calzaghe more "legacy fame" then this fight.

Beating Hopkins would only give the Calzaghe haters the "he was way too old" card too play.

Beating Taylor is a forgone conclusion even by the most passionate Calzaghe haters.

Beating Kessler in Wales is huge.

Beating Kessler in Denmark will ensure that no one in the enitre world of boxing can ever question Joe Calzaghe again...ever.

For sure it's a win win situation for Calzaghe. Even if he puts up a tremendous performance in defeat he will be well respected and then if he wins even better for him.

Its amazing that after the constant abuse Calzaghe has suffered on these boards that we end up in the position we are now almost in.

Calzaghe the recognised top Super Middle in the World, regarded by some as a Champion who has had hand picked opponents, wouldn't fight outside of the UK and wouldn't dare to take on his Super Middle Nemesis Kessler now seems to doing his best to facilitate this fight.

This fight wont make him famous because Kessler is not well known, the fight wont make him super money because there will be limited world wide interest yet he seems to be the one pushing for this fight.

Calzaghe at 35 could have waited for Hopkins or Wright who are around his age or older, he could have have moved up and looked for Roy Jones, Antonio Tarver, Glen Johnson or Clinton Woods again more his age and ready for the taking but no he is pushing for the more dangerous prime fighter in Mikkel Kessler.

He could have even offered Kessler the fight in Wales or even the UK but no it seems he is willing to travel to Kessler's backyard and fight there!

Seems if this fight happens many on here will have to eat their words regardless of the result!

He deserves credit for fighting in denmark, i think he should win comfortably, no Kessler is not more dangerous than Antonio Tarver, clinton woods is garbage, but yes your right calzaghe deserves credit.

What doesnt deserve credit are some of his fans who now begin to compare him to Floyd Mayweather and fighters of that class, the other day we had a poll on who was the better fighter, and a few people tried to say Calzaghe is a better fighter than mayweather, infact calzaghe was ahead in the poll for quite a bit. lol.

Floyd Mayweather Junior is a living Legend, even if you ignore the fact he was 5 weight world champion, undefeated and undisputed pound 4 pound king of boxing, ring magazine fighter of the year at 21 years old, world champion at 21 years old, all by age 30. (incredible)

His skills alone back it up, i think it would be foolish to compare calzaghe and mayweather in terms of skills, (unless you think Calzaghe is better skilled, lol) or in terms of resume and achievements in boxing.
