The REAL Reason You Dislike Hatton

i am a hatton fan, but i will not deny he hugs WAY too much. he had a good start in the urango fight, but after urango ****** his body in the 5th, hatton brought out the john the bum ruiz hug-a-thon style.

if hatton doesnt impress me in his next fight with castillo, i will no longer be a hatton fan.

in 2005, hatton was the ****, no question.

in 2006-07, hatton's pissed me off.

we dont need another john ruiz. im british but i have to say there is nothin to like about him...

... in the ring. Dude is a character, and almost makes it impossible to hate him, but I do agree that his hit-and-hug style makes him very tough to watch.

I give him credit for being the one overseas cat to parlay the biggest win of his career into a lucrative US tour, whereas everyone else "threatens" to come over, but instead milks one win (Joe C.). The irony being, Ricky comes over here at a time where the best fighters outside the US can now demand that the big fights happen in their own backyard or nowhere at all.

Anyway, I chose the "I don't dislike Ricky Hatton" option. Though oddly enough, I'm rooting for Castillo next month.

What I hate or turned me off the most about the guy is the fact that him and his trainer claim they can beat Floyd and are so ever confident. But still say every year that they will fight him next year That really pisses me off! if he fought and beat Junior Witter, I wouldn't complain as much. If he fought Collazo again, I wouldn't complain as much. hell if he fought anybody decent I wouldn't complain as much. Castillo is definitely moving in the right direction though, but I won't Castillo to mop the mat with him. And Ricky needs to stop barking so much and start doing some biting.

I like his personality and he seems like a decent guy, but it's his constant holding and clinching that makes not want to watch him. I'll admit I've only seen his last two fights, so I haven't seen the exciting Hatton that I have heard some of you talk about. I just hope in his fight against Castillo his hugging is cut down at least a little bit so the referee isn't constantly seperating the two.

In the first post of this thread, $iN claims there are only 5 Hatton fans on this site. However, so far 37 people - over half of all voters - have answered the last option, "I don't dislike Hatton"

So all his anti-Hatton threads and posts have not been successful in persuading many of our members to hate the tough little boxer from Manchester.

This will be my last post on a $iN thread. It seems most people don't take him very seriously, so I shouldn't either.

I like Hatton because i watched his fights before Tszyu, and he was a great pressure fighter. He was exciting and didnt do all the hugging **** he is now doing.
Britain dont produce fighters like him, with that kind of style of body punching. He has skills.

But his last fight, wen he began to struggle and hold dissapionted me.

For anyone who doesnt like Hatton because of his fans.....ur a ****in moron.
