I heard that Chuck made a bit more than million, but not nearly the amount the top boxers get; this will change if MMA proves to be more popular than boxing in future years.

The more popluar the sport becomes, the more money that is generated, the more the participants that are actully put asses in the seats, will want their share. This happens in every sport, ever proffession, MMA is no different.

MMA fighters need to form some kind of Union or agreement with eachother that would give them the advantage.

I never understood why boxers continue to let themselves get ****d from Promoters. Fighters should be working with the television companies instead of the individual promoters like Arum, King, Dibella, etc. On that note, the television companies can be counted as a "Promoter", however, they have more to lose in reputation than the others so they may try to keep it as clean as they can.

It's weird, I used to be a huge MMA fan years ago. I did muay thai and trained submissions. But when I stepped up into the boxing ring, it just blew me away. I realized that it takes even more tremendous skill to do well in boxing compared to MMA.

After focusing more on boxing, my interest in Muay Thai/Kickboxing and MMA just dwindled until I turned into a boxing fan. I started following the sport of boxing after getting hooked to that sport.

I really believe that another exciting HW could turn more heads toward boxing in America. Popularitywise worldwide, boxing is still head over heels against MMA. Boxing will never go away, it is here to stay, the powers that be in boxing should just clean up their acts.

I don't think boxing will go away. I do think they need to redefine themselves as a sport as well as rethink their marketing.

Also a lot of people keep forgeting that MMA has a huge following in the martial arts community. This is because there was never any career avenues to be a career martial artist. Before MMA, the only thing for martial artists was the Olympics and pro-wrestling and the Olympics was a limited avenue at best. This sport presents meaning and purpose in their respective arts.

So boxing can say whatever they want. MMA fans will just shrug and say they don't know what they're talking about.

I really gotta wonder why dumb**** Dibella was in this debate? We all know a young, passionate guy like Kellerman would of ripped Rogan a new *******. Instead, you got a 'promoter' debating with a grappler/announcer/student of the sport in Rogan. Seems silly to me.

You are exactly right. This is why UFC is prospering because it is ****in centralized. Dana White is a promoter but they are signed to one company - the UFC. You dont have a bunch of rival promoters against each other which is why you see the best fight the best in the UFC. Plus, Dana white actually knows how to market his fighters. Reality shows, T-shirts, the whole bit.

I watch the UFC show once in a while, its fun when they stand up and mix it up but when they go to the ground the fun ends.

No fight in MMA history can give you the excitement provided by fights like Gatti/Ward I, Barrera/Morales I, and Corrales/Castillo I. Heck they can't even compare to lesser fights like Cotto vs. Torres or Miranda vs. Abraham.

They just can't compete.
