I'd rather watch Taylor vs. Spinks than MMA's best two guys roll around on the ground and put each other in armbars. More punches were landed in Taylor-Spinks than the three best MMA fights combined.

UFC's greatest moments are when a guy holds another in an armbar for 5 minutes and the other guy gets up and wins with a kick to the head. Awesome stuff.
Pride had the better fights in my opinion.

Fedor vs. CroCrop was great. It was actually the fight that started to get me interested again in MMA. Many fights from Pride were better than many recent boxing fights. However, Gatti vs. Ward, Chico vs. Castillo, were more exciting to me than the MMA fights I have seen; this might change over time as MMA continues to grow on me.

How long does a "Real Fight" last on the streets?

Smaller gloves, no padding on the shins/feet = higher percentage of Knockouts.

Funny how some boxing fans refuse to acknowledge MMA, yet Tyson, the last exciting Heavyweight Champion (in my opinion) continues to go to MMA fights. Tyson is also one of the biggest fans and historians of boxing....

Last time I checked, nobody pays to see "real fights" on the streets. Boxing is cool because it's relatively safe. I'm not the type of guy to go pay homeless people to fight each other. I'll stick to boxing and watch pugilists compete.

Non-title fights are three 5 minute rounds, while championship bouts are five 5minute rounds. But I'd have to say you're right as far as the average for each fight goes. I guess they design it like a street fight. Go balls to the wall and try to beat the dude down before you get tired or something. It gets pretty sloppy and ugly when they run out of gas in the second round drop their hands and throw the most hideous punches you'll see. I'm not knockin MMA, cause I'm a fan, I'm just saying that's the truth.

Boxing makes more money than MMA. Those statistics were from HBO PPV only. They werent counting all of the Indapendent PPVs.

Exactly, you're all just conforming why I don't give MMA the time of day. It is a street fight.

Agree, most of the fighters have horrible hand combat technique. The Kickboxers are the ones to watch since they have many years of training with their hands.

Boxing is a form of "Martial Arts"/Combat Training.

Boxing was established to help soldiers fight in hand-to-hand combat.

Boxing, like wrestling, and other forms of fighting (that soldiers were required to learn), were made into "sports" to stay active and add entertainment to the "people." It was a way of showing off, thus the reason why the Olympics were started.
