Many fighters in MMA are Olympic athletes, and trained Martial Artists.

MMA goes back a long time, not just some new "fad" like many are claiming.

Just like how boxing was popular during ancient times, declined and went underground, then reemerged, so has MMA.

Joe Rogan has always been a ****ing *******. Pretty much everything he's involved in has to be considered a flash in the pan.

DiBella got him when he said to Rogan "You are not a boxing fan"

Rogan is obiously not the boxing fan he claims if he thinks UFC is a better sport than boxing. Rogan probably gets a hard on when he see's Liddell roll around with wiht some other guy and try to break his arm or something.

            Boxing > MMA
It will stay like that, best believe.

I used to watch some of the MMA fights back in the day but found it somewhat boring, even though I have a Martial Arts background. Boxing was my preference, still is, but have to admit after watching a ton of fights on satellite with IFL, Pride, and UFC, I find myself becoming a big fan of the sport. I still find the grappling part of the sport boring, even though it is a part of "real fighting", but the smaller gloves and high KO percentage from fighters wanting to engage makes up for it.

For the argument that boxers could not make it in MMA is ridiculous. Maybe they could not shoot right to the top and stay there with just boxing skills, but take any elite boxer give him a few years to learn other skills/forms, he will do quite well. In fact, an elite boxer might even have some advantages because he will have perfected the art of hand combat, which is lethal in MMA, despite what many say. Joe Rogan, commentating during a fight with a former champion kick-boxer who knocked out his opponent quickly, even said one time that boxers have the better reaction time because they are practicing at the speed of hand combat, which is much faster than the other combat forms.

Also, remember that Chuck’s trainer even said that someone like Tyson could do quite well in MMA if he added onto fighting ability, ex: wrestling.

Why do boxers also continue to say that MMA is just like "****-fighting"?
If MMA is, then so is boxing.

I think it just hurts seeing a sport start to tail off and another coming into play, especially given the great history and heroes boxing has produced.
Boxers make 10x the salary of UFC fighters.
Chuck has never made 1 million dollars for a fight.

ESPN said it will be PUSHING UFC into the mainstream into the upcoming years.

Expect to see there stars on SPORTSCENTER once a week in only a year or so.

UFC will eventually become a mainstream sport, even though a better and more entertaining sport continues to be killed by greedy promoters and sanctioning bodies.

If UFC takes of BOXING, BOXING can only blame itself
