I dont think i need to make a case for Lennox Lewis's legacy being better than Joe Calzaghe's, however if you can find any facts which prove otherwise i would be interested in reading them.

If Calzaghe isn't respected in America then who gives a ****? Nobody.

"He's the best of us all," Chris Eubank said when walking back to the locker room after fighting Calzaghe

"No I don't feel sorry for him - he's world champion, he's undefeated, he's fought everyone, he's anihilated everyone, what have I got to feel sorry for him for?" - Nigel Benn, 2006

"If you criticize Calzaghe you need your head tested." - Roy Jones, 2006

"He's fought good people, and you'd have to be crazy to suggest otherwise." - Roy Jones, 2006

"I don't understand how people say 'Oh he doesn't do this, he doesn't do that'. He already proved himself against Charles Brewer and the kid from Alabama." - Roy Jones, 2006

"Joe Calzaghe is the best British fighter for years and years, better than Eubank, Benn, everyone. That's my call." - Glenn McCrory, 2004

"The sheer depth in Joe's resume is incredible. Before Lacy he already fought guys like Mario Veit who was supposed to be the 'next big thing' in Germany, and if you look at Veit's record he hasn't lost to anybody apart from Joe. And before Lacy he'd already beat all the best America had to offer in Omar Sheika, Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell. He's even fought Chris Eubank and even Richie Woodhall, his resume reads like a Who's Who of boxing." - Jim Neilly

"It's never nice to go back and a bit disparaging to say he could beat these guys. I will say that Calzaghe is arguably the greatest British fighter there has ever been, so I don't need to compare him to a Collins or a Benn. But because he's a mysterious individual, because he doesn't behave like a star and lives a fairly arcane life in Newport he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Look at the names on his record - Richie Woodhall, Charles Brewer, Byron Mitchell, Robin Reid and of course Lacy. He's beaten all these guys and beaten them well. Look at Mger Mkrtcgian, who's now the European champion. He battered him, took him out in seven rounds. The job he did on Lacy was sensational. He's a remarkable fighter and it's just a shame that for whatever reason he hasn't had more career-defining fights." - Barry McGuigan

Three-weight world champion Duke McKenzie rates Calzaghe as the best British fighter of his lifetime.

BBC boxing's main pundit for 10 years (radio and TV, amateur and pro), Richie Woodhall, rates Calzaghe as the best British fighter he's seen fight live (including TV). Amir Khan says likewise.

Former world lightweight champion and respected commentator Jim Watt rates Calzaghe as the greatest post-war British fighter alongside Ken Buchanan.

"Joe Calzaghe is the proper article, a true warrior!" - Chris Eubank

Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton are the best British boxers of the last 15 years or so. Joe Calzaghe is the best Super-Middleweight of all time.
You make ****** statements like this and have the nerve to complain about me?

Count the daily threads and posts by $iN, with the same theme day after day. The most important thing in $iN's life seems to be proving British boxers are mediocre!

Joe Calzaghe has fought some good fighters, however he needs to finish his carrier with a couple of great fights in my opinion to be remembered as one of the best. Time is not on his side, but even at 35 he can still throw 4-5 shots combinations and has a very good stamina.
