The Heavyweight division is so weak that your right a cruiser or lightheavy does have a chance at being a heavyweight titlist. However, being a heavyweight superstar like Ali, Frazier, Lewis, Tyson isn't likely to come from that lighter hitting divisions.

I think Roy Jones in his prime could have dominated the Heavyweight scene right now (minus Wlad and Vitali), i would even give him a chance against Vlad cos Jones was so quick no??

no. He's too small. I dont even know that he's naturally bigger than Hagler.

All that bulking up he did was probably bad for his health, even if he never went back down to Light heavyweight.

Nah he's bigger then haggler surely, Thing is, Jones was pure muscle at 175 and he won a belt at heavyweight so it isnt inconcievable that he can beat Maskev, Briggs, Ibragimov, Brock etc.

He fought in the amateurs at 154. He's put on so much muscle from teh time he turned pro.

Thing is, he won a belt a heavyweight anyway so we already know he could compete against some guys there.

I dont think Jones would've had success against superheavyweights like Wlad or Lewis. I think Jones could've had success against Heavy's like Ruiz, Evander (post Lewis Evander), and Rahman.

However, RJJ wasn't a HW superstar he was a superstar fighting at HW and was more of a freak attraction than a serious HW. I think to be a real HW superstar you have to be able to KO people. Only a big punching HW will be a big superstar.

He beat John Ruiz in a fight that Ruiz didn't look at his most motivated to win. He just stood there and let Jones hit him after round 1.

Roy Jones Jr. in his prime would have made a much better Heavyweight than James Toney at least... It would have brought more excitement to the Heavyweight division whether he could truly dominate or not. But you're right, he's far to small to be great at that weight. He's a natural 175 pounder and a bit short at 5'11" to jump two weight classes and take on natural 220 pounders. Bernard Hopkins would have made a better Heavyweight than Roy Jones at 6'1", but it's far to late for that now. Hopkins lacked the punching power to excel at that weight anyway...

Yeah guess so, i think people would have tuned in to see a guy who started at 160 fight at heavyweight tho, thats history in the making.
