    its wladimir actually lol

i know what you mean, hes a good fighter, but him not being a superstar has bollock all to do with his skin colour, being police, respectful and being from Ukraine.

hes just not got all the factors a superstar has,he doesnt have any 1 thing that sticks out (bar when hes erect) hes just a very good boxer who was pretty much created by manny steward.

A recent MMA show in my hometown of 7,000 people had an amateur cage fighting show cost of tickets were 50 bucks it attracted 1,300 people...Boxing should be doing these numbers...Roy Eglebracht (sp?) out of California is the mastermind of putting great boxing shows on at a low cost and sells out his fights over in Cali with little unknown fighters...Promoters could take a page or two out of the book from him.

One of the trainers/promoters at my old gym switched to MMA and promoted that fight in my hometown it was in a cage. I contacted him and we are in the works of trying to put together a mma/boxing crossover show in the same venue it was at originally (fairgrounds) and see how that plays out. Instead the fighting will be in the ring as the same as boxing...

More promoters should take that approach or at least experiment with it...The general public just wants to see great fights whether its in a cage or in a boxing ring.
Maybe some of these promoters can practice what they preach, but I'll not hold my breath. Yeah Shaw seems like a bit of a **** sometimes, but I did agree with that point he made, that's all.

Its nothing to do with being white and polite, but here's where im gonna side slightly with welter.

There is a tendancy for German and eastern europeans to be painted as robotic, insenstive people with little personality, especially within our media, its goes back to the world wars, i was discussing this the other day on ******* when i was telling someone about the treatment of michael schumacher by the press.

Ummm No he ahs been head and shoulders above the rest for a while even before Stewart..people seem to forget that he was a Champ and KOing people left and right even before he lost a few fights.. He has been the best HW for at least the the last 5 or 6 years.. Even Lennox didn't want to face him..

being British i hope that haye can become the man at heavy he has the skill but has not been fully tested yet, I think wlad could unify but he hasnt had the chance and if he did i have the feeling his title reign would not be that long.

He's always going to be vulnerable though. At least Lennox avenged losses and beat a lot of dangerous opponents, including showing some grit in fights such as the Mercer, Briggs and Klitschko fights. Wladimir has talent, but he hasn't shown he can deal with adversity or beat guys he's lost to. I'm not bashing the guy, but for me he has not proven he is the man.

The next great superstar in the heavyweights will come from Europe. All young americans who are large and show exceptional athletic ability are quickly flagged . They are then conditioned and trained to compete and excell in basketball or football.

American heavyweight boxers will most likely be older fighters who come into the sport late after unsuccesful careers in another major sport. This late coming to boxing means they will not be nearly as good as others who start the sport earlier in there lives.

Europe has less sports which will consume there large gifted athletes. Soccer has never gobbled up a lot of athletes that are 6-3 plus and 220lbs plus.

Well he is fighting Brewster next.. so That is a start...
But its funny you mention Lewis having to go to war with Mercer whilst Klitschko Dominated him..
Klitschko had trouble with adversity because he is so GOOD he never had to face it..

Lewis lost to some dangerous opponents as well.. Just like Klitschko.. Klitschko when he fights dangerous guys and beats them.. they suddnley got exposed.. and were never that good anyways ..or washed up.. ect ect ect..

you know what, i think it could be anyone who comes up from light heavy or crusierweight, that kinda thing is happening a lot more often.
