Why Do People Think Mosley Can Beat Mayweather?

Unbeatable...certainly not. Unbeatable by Shane Mosley at this point in his career...certainly.

Floyd is not given credit for having power. No one sees him as a threat because of his size. Very few boxing fans respect Floyd for his amazing offensive arsenal. Floyd is seen as the pound for pound best because of one thing- his speed.

Mayweather may have had pop in his punches at the lower weight classes, but few boxers worry about his punch when they enter the ring with him. It's the speed. That is why people think Mosley has a shot. He's a guy who has carried some pop in his punch with him to higher weights, and who has speed. When people think about someone hanging with Mayweather they think it needs to be a fast guy who has a shot at hurting him. Mosley seems to carry that combination for most people.

these are all good points, but they forget his jab is nothing special and tactically he is not exactly like the sugar from the 70-80s.

If you ask me, I think who says "Shane (Floyd) would beat Floyd (Shane) easy is not looking at the whole story"

Shane Mosley only knows one thing about how to beat Mayweather...how he got beat by Vernon Forrest. Mayweather can only be beaten by a tall guy like Forrest with a jab that he is committed to for the whole fight. I used to think Mayweather would handle a guy like that b/c of speed but the DLH fight showed he is not comfortable when somebody consistently keeps him off balance with a jab.

he can't. The only thing that saved Oscar was his defense that was surprisingly very good. Shane is an offensive fighter with bad defense. His defense is his offense. While Mosley has fast hands, Mayweather would counter his punches and Mosley will be a sitting duck. Oscar was saved in the late rounds because while he was tired, mayweather couldn't penetrate his defense. Shane dosn't have this and I see a TKO in rd 10/11.

I think mosley would test Mayweathers jaw out n tag him more times then DLH did thats for sure!!! Im not sure if he can win the fight, but it would be a great fight to watch!!! I think mosley would have to knock him out to win!!!
