I would rather be loved and remembered for taking risks and giving it all for my fans than playing it safe and doing just enough to get by to win a round and be hated for it. But its different strokes for different folks.. You can't force and apple to be an orange.. and you can't force someone to do something out or that is not in there personality.. So if being like that isn't him than you can't knock him for it I guess.. Just simply don't be a fan and don't watch his fights if you don't like how he fights.

I always thought boxing was about trying to hit and not get hit... I'm sure Floyd wouldn't change one thing about his Hall of Fame career...

I smell the awful stinch of hate on these boards often towards Floyd Mayweather... I don't understand how and why so many of you hate the best in the sport that you follow religiouslly... He is 38-0 and ya'll keep making excuses for why he wins... Oscar De La Hoya was supposed to be the savior and stop this guy because he really has never fought anyone but now, Oscar is "a faded opponent", "a once borderline great boxer", and "old, past his prime"... Not only that but, Floyd "barely" won (hahaha)... Please fellas, appreciate the talent we are all here to witness... He is a great boxer and by far the best we have in the sport today... I will not stomp on any toes and talk about his greatness in comparison to the all-time greats... That is all...


And for those that have a problem with anything I have mentioned in this thread...

he is a great boxer and he beat a great in the ring may 5th

My point is this: Floyd has all the weapons to back up his smack talk. He has speed, endurance, defense and incredible skills and could've easy dominated Oscar but for some reason he just held back. And for this reason it was a boring fight after the 8th round because you knew Floyd would just 'coast' thru the rounds just doing enough to win. That's what all the hate's about!

Ok now im starting to wonder if you watched the fight becuase Floyd opened up and put a lot of work on Oscar's face after the 8th rd

Glad to see you at least recognize he is good... But once more, why take risk in a fight if taking those risks could cause you to lose a fight that would otherwise be "easy work"...

I recognize that he's got great skills and is a tremendous boxer and I also think that he could've done anything with DLH. He couldn't been cranking out that left hook all night until Oscar hit the canvas, I just don't understand the rationale why he didn't. .

I felt and got the sence that he was holding back for some reason, thats really all im saying. You must not be able to read very well because I did say I gave him props but for the biggest fight in ages I was dissapointed.
